It depends on how much faith you place in the evidence, I guess.

Faith doesn't need evidence.
Evidence can make a strong case for a particular conclusion but any reasonable scientist will tell you that everything is theory and we can be pretty sure that a particular theory is correct but nobody can be 100% sure - there is always going to be that tiny remote possibility that we got it all wrong and just happened to find a theory that mostly fits the evidence.
That's where faith comes in.. You have to take it on faith that something is 100% true.
By the way, I should point out that faith isn't just limited to the realm of religion. For instance, U.S. currency requires faith in the full backing of the United States Government and it's been that way ever since we dropped the gold standard years and years ago.

Faith is more resistant to change than proof by evidence. Knowledge begotten by evidence is open to change if contradicting evidence is presented.
But even in the face of contradictory evidence, faith doesn't seem to be swayed. The evidence is just construed to fit in with the faithful belief. Faith is based on what someone wishes to be true, so there is a strong incentive to keep it, even in the face of conflicting information.

It is something you have to experience for yourself. No one on Earth can explain it to you. It is spiritually discerned, just as the words of the bible can only be understood by letting the spirit lead you to the truth. Faith is not an emotion and not something you can make yourself do......,,it just is. You either have faith or you don't. I had faith in healing before I was healed.....I had faith that I would receive the Holy Ghost,,and I did,,,two months after I was baptised. I had faith I could quit smoking,,, I just laid them down and never looked back the morning after I was baptised...
But Faith in God has plenty of evidence...Just look at this complex world and know that it is not random..it was planned by an intelligence beyond what we can understand....it was created by God Almighty...you have evidence for that. Believe it.

New American Standard Bible (©1995)
Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.

No, faith may not be established against evedence,
We can never embrace a doctrine when evidence stands against it,
nor should one follow a principle without evidence.
If God wants a person to believe in a principle, He should make it clear and evident. He is the Most Fair and Just. He knows that belief is not a voluntary thing,
Our human knowledge comes from direct or indirect evidence, and it does not follow our own whim and will.
An acceptable religious belief must be based on knowledge.
When God wants me to know something, He should make such a knowledge possible by making its evidence available.
Should He demand from me to believe something while evidence is standing against it,
He would be asking me to do the impossible.
This contradicts His justice.

I try very hard to figure out why so many people consider faith stronger than evidence but you can't just have a healthy conversation with a lunatic!

Evidence can be challenged. Faith, when placed firmly, is rock solid and immovable. Nothing can challenge faith, it is unchallengable. Evidence is. Note that this doesn't make faith more correct or absolute than evidence. Faith has no basis other than the boolean condition true or false. Evidence can contain many shades of gray.

People can't have faith in something tangible, because everything that can be inspected and viewed has flaws. There is nothing that is perfect. Perfect is a falacy. It is a goal not an adjective. If God were here walking around, and we were able to talk to him/her, there wouldnt be as many "believers" would there be? Just like boyfriends and girlfriends. We dont just pick a boyfriend/girlfriend from what we read about him/her. Faith is stronger because it is like perfect, it can never be reached, but it is a goal rather than something standing right in front of you.But I believe we should "believe" in ourselves, rather than use our religion as a crutch or as a reason for living. We should live because we only get one life, one chance to do what you can, while you can, and then POP your gone. Damn I'm kinda depressed now, but thats life (no pun intended).Like look at all the thumbs up/down. If you say that you are "pro evidence" or "anti-faith" you get a thumbs down. That goes to show what "faith" does. It makes you blind to anything that goes against your beliefs.BAM!What're you gonna say to that?

The thing is that we have to be enough clever to realise and understand evidence . Having faith is much easier than understanding the truth
I think that faith is a feeling that is very close to instinct and knowledge is above it .The more we get close to knowledge the more we become awake but the more we let ourselves be lead by " faith" the more we become asleep and auto-hetero-hypnotized by these nightmarishtic religions

It's simple.
At the end of the day,the religious mind gos to bed thinking that it doesn't matter what everyone else thinks, because the religious person KNOWS that they are right. Evidence can be faked but blind faith cannot.
End of story.
Sucky story, isn't it?
