He could give absolute proof that He exists, so that one would have no choice but to believe in Him.
That would be the ultimate way of destroying or interfering with free will, I think.

I have a phrase I say to myself "Let go and let God". In otherwords if I have a problem to solve I say that over and over for about one minute in my head, and then I let the problem go. If we don't push for something, concentrating on getting something or someone, and let it go it is a much easier way of receiving .Wouldn't God do so much better than us coming up with a resolve to the probem, There is one saying that I think many forget about.
"What you seek you find". I feel it means "What YOU seek you find." and most times it isn;t what you would really want.
If we "go with the flow" and have faith in the process, we will be happy with the answer. In giving us free will, God does not want to interefere, because by our mistakes we learn, and from our positive choices we grow. It is all up to us. He would not give us free will and then interfere, that would be a contradiction.
Peace and love

Well, apparently he has this 'Plan'...and it seems that we all must go with the flow of it and there's nothing we can do to fight it. I'd say that such would be an infringement upon free will. So I suppose that free will would be an illusion if this is true.
Luckily, I don't give god the time of day, so I don't have to worry about his interference.

God will never infringe upon your free will. That is why it is called free will. We must chose what we do in life right or wrong. God will give us paths to go down, now what you do as you go down the path is up to you. Everything we are and will be is all due to choices we have made in our past.

He could give you a proper smiting.
I love how people say that the divine intervention in the Bible was all 100% fact, but God doesn't interfere with people now because He doesn't want to interfere with "free will." Funny how convenient that is.

Your free will was given so that you may choose to love God.
God would not interfere with your free will for this reason. Because without freedom, love cannot exist.
* Edit * - To the guy above me that said it is a "convenient" argument to say God no longer interferes with free will, while in earlier times he would "smite man" for his behavior -- this change is the result of the second covenant God made with Man.
This is the whole point of the New Testament...

Here's an example from a personal experience:
In the past, God has altered my thoughts and emotions against my will. I did not want to be persuaded to those ideas or emotions. Honestly, I don't like being persuaded with the alteration of my thoughts.

Harden your heart as he did with the king of Egypt.
Give you some kind of vision hinting at something he wants you to do.
Preplanning your destiny ahead of your existence in the first place...in which case "free will" is a mere illusion.

Certain of His laws can't be broken - like gravity. Your free will might make you attempt to walk up the wall or on the ceiling, but while you are in the bounds of gravity - you can't.
He will not, though, arbitrarily infring on your free will because he gave it to you, and he does not renege on his gifts.

Well, you could be headed to the bar with your buddies to get smashed and make fun of people, then your kid ends up sick, and your wife gets called in to work.
So much for free will.
