Much happier to be invited over for dinner. A nice restaurant is good for a safe date or a special time, but dinner in is an intimate gesture.

Doesn't really matter to me. I mean, generally if I'm going on a date, its because I want to spend time with her, so it doesnt matter what we do. There are advantages to both. Going to her house is cheaper (since I'd be payin the bill) and it also shows shes taking the effort to cook you dinner, not to mention its more relaxed and open. The restaurant has flexibility, since you can both get something different, and whatever you want, and no one has to cook. Both are good, and both will happen in a relationship, so yes, I do like when she invites me to her house, but sometimes going out to a restaurant is nice too.

For a first date, no... because it's just too much to take in at once. They're seeing you at home for the first time... they might feel obligated to bring something... while you're finishing up cooking, they'll have to entertain themselves... why make the situation more awkward than necessary.
But if you know them pretty well or if you've been out before, then I think it's a great idea. It gives you a chance to show off and him a chance to compliment you on your great cooking.

Are you kidding... This is the greatest! But my response just depends on if the girl is a good cook or not.
I LOVE going out to dinner. I especially love going out to resturants, but there is just something special about being invited over for dinner.
