This teen's MOM bought him a 9mm assault rifle.

And after finding all this immunition, these people still think "Oh, this is an upset child, he may have not acted on it"? Duh.

miss Sunshine: I'm with you in your prayers.
It's scary to think that some lunatic kid of some deranged mother might arm our own kids.

Well, not to defend them or anything...the police haven't determined whether the parents actually gave the kid the guns in the first place.

As for what's wrong with them....it's the same story everywhere....no parent wants to believe that their kid is dangerous...using drugs....drinking....or otherwise engaging in bad activities. So usually they deny deny deny...it's sad really because most of today's violence could really be solved if the parents were to take a more active role in a child's life.

My concern is the media attention these kids are given. Adolescents are very impressionable and especially troubled ones. They see other kids getting bullied...tormented....and standing up for themselves. Not only are they immortalized by the media for days...even years in some cases....but all these kids had 2 things in common....a wish to do harm...and a hope for their own life to end. There are a ton of teenagers who feel the same way and move on yes....but every year more and more are thinking the same thing...wouldn't that be great? Not only would I be getting rid of the same people that hurt me....but I would be getting out of this ridiculous life.

It's such a shame. Granted schools need to step up security, and parents need to take a more active role....BUT if maybe the media didn't make these kids out to be freakin' martyers than someone else wouldn't think that it was such a great idea to follow in their footsteps.

I agree, this is a big problem. I'm not against guns, but I don't think that if you are going to teach the child how to respect the gun, then you are doing the child, yourself and the world a huge disservice.

This mother obviously thought that her responsibility was gone once the babe left her bosom.

"The weapons included a 9mm assault rifle that the teenager's mother had recently bought for him"

She bought him this 9mm assult rifle. She's nuts and now they are reviewing her actions. I hope she goes to jail.

that's just stupid on the mothers part. The teen was obviously very upset. this could have been BECAUSE of the parents. unfortunately there are people who want to recreate the Columbine attacks. and some parents are VERY far-out...to be nice about it.
