Would you kill ten puppies to save your favorite four legged friend? Say like for a disease or something? Hypothetically.

What a horrible thing to think about... but here is my honest answer. Let's say that my dog had a medical condition that required an organ transplant. If it would take 10 puppies to save his life then my answer is yes. BUT only under this specific condition... The puppies would have to come from a kill shelter. I know of many "county dog pounds" where the dogs are shot with a gun, or put into a gas chamber. I know of one specifically that does a "clean out" every Friday. These dogs are going to be killed no matter what. I would use those puppies. I would only use them if they could be humanely euthanized without interfering with the use of the organs. Humane euthanasia (even though the dog loses its life) is not much different for the dog than a heartworm test. Both are needles. It's sad and I'm not pro-euthanasia by any means, but if an animal must be put down this is the only humane way. If homeless animals are going to die no matter what, why not save a life with the loss of others. It's very possible I feel this way because this is a hypothetical situation. I would love to live in a world where the pet overpopulation problem was extinct.

No... Even though your four legged friend is special, you need to give the puppies a chance at life. It may be hard but you might figure something else that could help it. You should never kill any puppies just to save an older dog's life. It's like killing a new born human baby just to save an 80 year old person. They have lived a long life and now the new born needs too.

No I would do whatever was in my power to save all eleven my beloved pet and the ten puppies. If the puppies had a disease I would take them to the vet and see if they could be cured and make sure that my pet did not have the same disease. If the vet said they could not be saved then I would have to have them put to sleep and I would stay with each and everyone of them and have them cremated together and then I would cry like a baby.

I couldn't make the decision to kill any dog. It's not fair for ten pups to die. They have a long life to live ahead of them. When your time is up, your time is up! Hate to say it, but it's true!

No. It would be sad to have my pet die, but there's no way I could steal 10 other lives in order to save just 1 life. That's just unfair.
