This evening my man ripped his fingernail across the top leaving a piece attached and then picked his teeth with it. All this at the meal table while I was still eating.
Is this a good enough reason to walk away from the relationship?

Ok, let's add some details here. We have been married for 25 years, so I don't walk away easily. And I have told him before how gross it is, I felt sick and didn't finish my meal.

And I did add that bit about walking away from the relationship as a sort of a joke. But things are rocky and sometimes it is the little things...

Not all men are disgusting. My husband would never be so crass and insulting to those around him. Wifey says, "But if you'd leave him over this or even consider it, then obviously you don't love him. My husband farts at the dinner table, picks his nose in public, and scratches his balls 24/7 but I still love him." If my husband set that kind of rank example for our kids, his 'you know what' would be finding somewhere else to live! And actually, I'd never have walked down the aisle with him in the first place. A man who loves and respects his wife and family doesn't act like a pig around her or his children.
It's not the nail thing that is a relationship-breaker, it's the whole lack of respect for you. Did you tell him it grossed you out or did you just laugh at him. Let him know it's a complete turn-off and maybe he'll care about that. If not, I'd say you need to find someone else who cares what you think of him and who respects you.

I dont think one act (at least this kind of act anyway) is good reason enough to walk away from the relationship, but...
I do think it is good reason enough to consider whether his attributes are the kind of attributes you want in a man.
There is a wide spectrum of male types, some more common than others, and just as much in the [opposite] spectrum of what a woman prefers.
I suggest considering what his general behavior in life has been, being what this act springs from, and deciding whether you are content with it.

People in general are pretty disgusting, it is not just the men. And yes, that could be a good enough reason to walk away from the relationship. At least he did not pick his nose and look at his treasure. Only really gross people do that.

That is absolutely gross. You can help to eliminate that kind of behavior by refusing to be with such a classless man. If every woman did that, we could breed out morons like that.
Trust me: there are better men available.

If you walk away from such a trivial matter like this, you'll be walking away for the rest of your life.
Every partner has their annoying habits, nobodys perfect. That's life!

That is kind of gross. But it's because of people like you that the divorce rate is so high. If that's the only reason, get over it. He could be doing worse.

OK that could be discusting but that is no reason to break up just tell him not to do that in front of you, unless you just want to use that as in excuse to break up with him cause it sure sounds like you want to.
