lol...I totally get that! My mother-in-law is a good person. She calls very frequently to find out when her son is coming to visit. She wants to know which holidays we will be spending at her house and expects us to come for any funeral, birthday, or sickness. We have had a couple of good conversations in the 18 years my husband and I have been married. God knew what He was doing to have us live 3 1/2 hours away. I really do like her....at a distance. I will send up a prayer for you...to have patience and love for her.

Dear God, when I was married and having fun,
It was dearest mother in law who kept a wake all night
Early morning she looked at our faces and found
That the first night was fantastic and much fun.

Ever after that, she stayed awake every other night
To make our babies their night feed or rock them
One by one they all grew up,she stayed a wake ,
All those nights till they grew up,praying for them.

Till date she is still praying and waiting to join us,
We do miss all her nagging and interfering too.
But with all this she was the best of friends we
Had right through our days when things were bad.

She has never let us out of sighte even from so far,
No a day goes by without her sitting and crying,
Please, dear God , help my mother in law today
And every day to be healthy, wealthy and wise.

These are the prayers we all three contribute ,
Till date, from Melbourne,an Australian State.
Any one who calls or asks about Ma in Law,
Will know our prayers by heart as we still pray.

This is by my three daughters in law, you can find out if you desire, send me a direct mail, I will give their email contact to varify, if this is a lie or a true prayer from their hearts for me - three times a mother in law and one more on the way.

I'm sure you are not looking for this, but I once felt much like you, maybe worse, In all honesty it would not have fazed me if she dropped dead, as long as I did not haft to hear her annoying voice or her sickening face again. But I started to pray for her, at first it was almost like choking. but I keep at it, day after day, bit by bit, I started seeing her not a the witch in my life, but as a lonely old women, who really needed help. years later, I still pray for her, and we get along, so much better than we ever did, neither changed, we just accepted each other.

I am a mother in law and as I read all of your responses I found it very interesting how different ones related to your mil.

Being a widow and working up until several years ago I try and stay independent. My work is hospice work and know how short life can be.

Thanks to all of you who take that extra patience and care of your mother in law.

I understand how you feel .....
