Which makes the biblical account of Joseph forgiving his brothers for that crime all the more amazing. Of course, that happened over 400 years before Exodus was written but kidnapping has always been a hideous crime. I don't know how professing Muslim terrorists can do that and still think their God is pleased by it.
Joseph had learned humility through his suffering as a slave and by the time his brothers came down to Egypt for food, they did not recognize him, but he knew them and completely forgave them. 'You meant it for evil,' he said, 'but God meant it for good'. There is no sin that cannot be forgiven by the blood of Christ. Genuine repentance and faith in God's provision of Christ is what's needed.

I haven't had occasion to do any research into that particular field of endeavor, but I'd be willing to bet that those who practiced it regarding American slavery have all been punished by death by now.

That only applies to kidnapping Hebrews. Capturing the neighbors for slaves was only forbidden if they'd been ordered to kill them instead of taking them slaves.

Thank God we don't live under the law anymore. Jesus provided Grace.
Yes we deserve to die but notice that no one is disappearing. That is b/c there is forgiveness of sins.
Read Ephesians in the New Testament.

Fun fact:
Racist Western thinking held that Africans were not people, so (according to their thinking) the Bible Law did not apply to them.

Well, let's start killing the tribes of Africa, which often sold off rival tribe members, and then stick it to the Spaniards who boated them over.
