You will need a mini van with the center seat folded or a small pick up truck. Another solution would be to rent a folding wheel chair for the day.

My daughter is also in a wheelchair, a power one that does not collapse. I have a Ford E150 van, the only thing about this is I also have a portable ramp because of the height of the van. If she is not going to be with you most of the time I would also agree that a mini-van with the collapse-able seats will work for you.

You'll need a mini-van so you can put it in the back. It maybe easier to rent a folding wheelchair than a car to fit.

Uncollapsed chairs can fit into mini-vans and many SUVs OK, and can often sit in a full-size sedan's trunk with the lid open.

I have even put them in a Honda Civic trunk with some Bungee cords to lock it in place!

If you a vehicle with a roof-top rack and the chair is light enough, you can put it there as well (probably covered with a tarp to camoflague it instead of advertising it.)

you can hire wheel chairs cheaply from british red cross, small donation required or try your local shop mobility, they also hire chairs again for small donation, or most black cabs can take a person in a wheelchair, most have ramps to help you get in and out of the car, just explain when you hire it, or is there even a local bus service that picks up elderly and carer from home and take to town in your area, ours is called ring and ride, hope this is helpful
