I forgot I had 2 New York steaks in the freezer. Sale date was August 11. Is it still safe to cook if I had it in the freezer all this time?

If the steak was wrapped correctly and doesn't have freezer burn, it will be just fine. If you don't know what freezer burn looks like, it turns the corner of the meat white-ish or lighter colored where it's burned.

Yes it shoould be fine. Just defrost it first before cooking. I have meat that has been in my freezer for longer than 2 months. I have just cooked and eaten a piece of beef that had been in the freezer for nearly 12 months. It was delicous. Meat will keep if it is good when first put in to freeze. Enjoy

Yes
freezing the steaks make then last a long long time
as long as they are not freezer burned then they are good to eat. That is what a freezer is for. you buy meat that is discounted because the color is a little dark or the date is about past. You buy em cheap and freeze em.

You can always cook it!
Can (should) you eat it?
If it is still red'ish' and doesn't smell sour, you can still feel safe.

Actually I ate some sour smelling meat and merely ended up burping a lot for a while.

New York Strip. Where do you live? I am willing to test taste them for you.

If it's beef then I wouldn't have any problems eating it till Christmas assuming the freezer is a good one.

If it's been frozen the entire time, yes it's still safe. However it may not taste as well as it could have.

yes, as long as it has not thawed and refrozen. I have a big chest freezer and we keep meat in it for longer than two months.
