Thus far, after 2 weeks, I have not found Slimfast to be helpful at all.

Protein shakes did little for me. I felt extremely full initially, but the feeling lasted only about an hour. The shakes do tend to lead to an increase in gas, and the smell is 10X's worse than normal! I found that eating more often worked best for me. I didn't eat large meals, but rather smaller ones five or six times a day. My metabolism kicked into high gear, and I actually lost weight without increasing my activity level. It might work for you, it might not. Men seem to have better results with this approach than women. You really just need to keep trying until you find what works for you.

Depends on the protein bar. If it's high glycemic index bar, then you're jacking up your GL, which reduces your fat burning metabolism. Furthermore, high insulin levels can actually induce hunger. If you get into the habit of having basically a candy bar all through the day, you'll have trouble losing weight. It doesn't matter if the candy bar has healthy proteins and vitamins and minerals added to it. If you are serious about losing weight, get yourself a GL meter and adjust your diet until you get your GL in the healthy range, which is between 70 and 100, except after meals. If it's too high, you will have a hard time controlling your weight.

There's two problems with the liquid diets from my experience. One: You stop drinking them, you put any weight you may have lost back on. Two: they are simply not satisfying. I'd rather have a salad, with a grilled chicken breast, lots of veggies and oil and vinegar which would supply far more nutrition for the same amount of calories. Just the act of chewing your food will fill you up longer, not to mention the extra fiber. They are okay for a person on the go as opposed to totally skipping a meal.

I am a chocaholic and if I eat or drink Slimfast it keeps me out of the candy. I really like it frozen and it does fill me up for the time being. But I really can't say I've lost weight with it. You still have to burn more calories than you consume. That's where my problem is !!!

There was a lady I worked with who was forever on diets to lose weight. She and another lady decided to do the liquid diet (Slimfast). She passed out and the aid car had to be called. They said her electrolytes were all messed up because of her being on nothing but a liquid diet.
So be careful.

I was never able to stand the texture and flavor of any shakes I ever tried. This one http://www.kosherdietplan.com caught my eye because of the 3- day money back guarantee and I tried it. I’m on the Cinch plan already for 6 months and I am love the café latte flavor so much, I actually crave it! it fills me up and I have control, enough to automatically control my portions because I’m still full from my last shake. It’s the healthy alternative to surgery.

Celebrate Meatless Mondays by creating a meal starring beans (another weight-loss aid). You can love this sweet potato and also black bean burrito.

The main purpose of the shakes is control. I think it's just like any other diet, if you do it and stick to it reasonably, you will succeed. You must add in exercise though!
