Tried the whole button thing in the front of the stock, and still didn't work. I looked at multiple pictures, including the one provided from surplusguns.com. However, on mine PAST the button and hole part there looks like a rivet piece, so that means there looks like TWO things I have to take care of, not just the pressing in of the spring metal piece. Any ideas?

Would it be possible to post a digital picture so we can actually see the problem? I have researched my own guns and my Dealer schematics on Mauser K-98 variations and can't find any examples of the "rivet" you describe here.

You may have one that somebody has riveted or retrofitted in some way. Try and find a person who speaks Mauser close to you to look at it and advise on what to do. This is probably one of those problems that hands on experience is going to be required to solve.

Go here they show you how to take it apart piece by piece......

You might have to press in on that button then tap the barrel band forward to get it off on the front of the mauser.
