The dude devoted his entire life to educating children. That's already better than every christian I ever met...

Actually, I based this question on what I knew of his work done outside the TV program, but I guess I can't expect everyone to be as well read as myself...

pretty good question, My Hero-ess. i think he does (or did) unto his neighbors as he wanted them to do unto him. he was pretty nice to Mr. McFeely, and he was just the mailman! i wouldn't know my mailman if we walked in the door right now! (wait, that's not true---i'm at work, and i do know the mailman here, but not at home)

I'm kinda thinking that Jesus is the model. No mere human is in any way "perfect".
Do you form judgments about TV personalities strictly by what you see of them on TV or did you know Mr. Rogers personally?

I don't know that he was perfect, but he is certainly an excellent model of a Christian doing God's work in the world.

Fred McFeely was an OK guy, but not perfect. Even ministers sometimes must have to stand naked, and in his case, it was swimming, he swam naked every morning for two hours. True story. He also wrote his own theme song, that's pretty cool, he was not a child molester, or a drug addict, he wasn't a Navy Seal officer, these were all rumors.

There is no such thing as a perfect Christian...the only one who ever existed was crucified. As for Mr. Rogers, we only knew his television persona, but he seems to have been a very good man.

There is no perfect model of a chrisitan on earth. Just because you saw him on tv doesn't mean that's how he was behind closed doors.

Christian or not, he was a great man. Sincere, caring, empathetic...it radiates from him. I don't believe that has to do with Christianity, he's just a good guy.
