SBDF=Silent But Deadly Flatulence
SBDBB=Silent But Deadly Baloney Breath

Do these people get joy out of sneaking out their nasty smells to everyone on board? Could they not take a short walk to the restroom and do this?

Do people just not care anymore?

You would be surprised about how many people do it just because they dnt give a damn anymore. Some think its actually FUNNY. lol I would make a BIG scene if someone did that next to me.

Well lets think about this. THe wind has got to come out, the generator of the said wind has little control over the smell at that stage. The choice is silent or vocal. Which is least disruptive to other travellers? Well, the loud ones may wake up the sleepers, so i think i have to opt for the silent type. Only problem is those around you get suspicious looks, cause noone is sure where the culprit is. So i think folks we better agree, no beans or lintels for a day before climbing into the clouds.

Well normally, someone could brag about smell level or hang time, but in a jet, the air is recirculated anyhow. So, the only alternative I can think of is an anal plug-in device that can be re-directed to the jet engines for a little extra boost. This could be the wave of the future with people providing a booster of methane gas to the flight.

They could serve chilli's and beans along with beer and possibly eggs. This could help the whole global warming issue.

If it was a "politician only " flight, then the combination of hot air and methane produce by bovine scatology, would virtually make it a free flight.

People just don't care. Nobody has any manners either. Sometimes it is unavoidable, but they should excuse themselves anyway. You should make EVERY attempt to make it to a restroom before letting it go in the seat cushion. Bad breath? Breath mints or chewing gum goes a long way to help the problem. Another problem is people don't think. So, short of bringing a filter mask, turn the air on high and read or listen to the radio.

I can kind of understand the SBDF because the fasten seatbelt sign always seems to be on and so sometimes you can't exactly leave your seat even if you want to.

As for the bad breath, the must not know they have it. Maybe make it a point to carry some extra gum when you board the plane and then offer it to get passengers around you who may have bad breath... to help keep their ears from popping painfully, of course ;)

They don't care. They can not get to the bathroom because of the drink/snack cart. Think about all the passengers in range if the SBDF is released while standing in the aisle! The seat is more discreet.
Baloney breath? Would you like a mint? Is there any mouthwash on the drink cart?

What else are you going to do? You're hurtling along in a 747...a pressurized metal cylinder...at 490 knots, you need to squeeze cheese, and you're 3 hours from landing. You've got to just float the biscuit and hope for the best.

Sometimes the pressure itself makes matters worse, and the urge sneaks up on you and is unavoidable, so you HAVE to go for the one-cheek-sneak.

Sure, I try to aim it down into the cushion itself while hoping to heck that I don't need to use it in the event of a water landing. I do not want to be bobbing in the frigid Atlantic, clinging for dear life to a pillow full of my own flatulence.

I doubt they're doing it on purpose, they're probably just as embarrassed when it happens. As for the bad breath, maybe they don't notice? or they can't help it. I mean, long flights, nasty airline food, sleep...of course they're going to have bad breath.
