I got home from work at around 6.30pm. My parnter had left at 1.30pm so our beagle had been alone for five hours. She is used to this and usually sleeps until I get home. However I cam home tonight and she had urinated in the kitchen which is not a usual occurence and had vomited a few times around the kitchen. She doesn't want her food tonight which is very unusual as she is usually a typical greedy beagle! Also when I first came home she was very restless wandering around the house although now she has settled a bit and is lying on the sofabed next to me. Should I take her to the vet immediately? I don't want to waste their time if she doesn't really need to go. I'm wondering if she just has an upset stomach. I can't think of anything she could have eaten that she shouldn't have although my partner was sorting through some bulbs to plant in the garden earlier and she could have pinched one of them. She seems quite bright in herself except for quiter than usual. HELP!

i would take her to the vet immediately... anytime there is vomiting and a pet is "off their feed", take them in... even with vaccinations, there is a chance of parvo or other viruses... the sooner it's diagnosed, the better the chance of saving the animal... hope she's better soon!

"Waste their time?!" What are you, nuts? You will be PAYING for their time so it's not a 'waste' to them. You mean you don't want to have to PAY if it's nothing more than an upset stomach!

If your 'parnter' (partner) was sorting bulbs you'd better check what kind of bulb since some are poisonous to animals. I wouldn't EVER consider taking my pet to the vet as a "waste" of time! At the very least, you could be taking care of her annual checkup. And when was the last time her teeth were cleaned? Take your dog to the vet.

Dogs usually adjust well to the weather except in extreme conditions. Vomitting could be caused by something she ate that you are not aware of (obviously not what you feed her; maybe stuff lying around). It could also be a symptom of diseases like distemper or stomach flu. She should already have her complete shots by now. Bring her to the vet so she can be properly rehydrated with a saline IV. The vet could also run blood tests to see what's really wrong with her.

I would head to the vet. Better to be safe than sorry.

I just had a friend of mine whose dog was acting strange, not eating, vomiting etc and they took the dog to the vet and it died on the way there. Turns out it ate a plant that was poisonous to dogs.

So sad.

My basset used to vomit like this when she had eaten something that she shouldn't have. The urinating though is a bit unusual. With dogs you never know what they may have gotten into. I would give the vet a call to see what they think.

It sounds like she ate something that definitely isnt agreeing with her. I would take her to the vet because if it is one of the bulbs they can be poisonous to dogs.

go to the Vet now!! no food intake mean she might have parvo!! (sp?) if she starts to get diarrhea then you know for sure! My first dog died in only 4 days from parvo , please for her sake, get it looked at ASAP!!!
