I saw it. It's a nice sentiment, and I applaud her courage and the inspiration she gives to other women. I also think it's important to maintain strength of mind when you are injured or ill. But I use the word "mind" not soul, because what would she say about her spirit if, instead of cancer, she had chronic depression, schizophrenia, or extensive brain damage?

P.S. -- I'm an atheist.

Drug induced visions or real experience? hard to tell. I think all you can make of it is that Mellissa Ethridge has a very strong belief that her soul is very important. Good for her. Other than that...you can't make a thing of it. Not even a hat.

It's not unusual for near death situations to bring a person to a "spiritual awakening" of sorts. The mind needs hope to survive....existance of a spiritual life is hopeful

We should take away from this that being talented in one subject (i.e.; music) does not automatically make you an expert in everything.
