Yes, but you may have problems if you bring it back to the word 2003 computer after saving it in 2007. You can use a universal format like RTF that should work with both if you like.

Yep, however when editing at home save the file as a 2003 word document. To do this click File, Save As, and change the save as type to Word 2003

yes you can. The harder situation is when you want to open up a Word 2003 in Word 2007. For that you need to go to the Microsoft website and download a converter.

Also, save your .doc as .rtf (rich text format) and it might be easier yet!

Yes.
The document will open in Word 2007 with the .doc extension(97-2003 file format) and it will say [COMPATIBILITY MODE] next to the document name meaning it is a 97-2003 document and is being saved as a 97-2003 document.

Yes, but when you save it at home, you must save in in Word 2003 format or you will have problem reading it again in school

Save both in the Word 2003 format.
You can then use it at both locations.

PS: Ask the faculty (if they're not sleeping ;-)) why still Word 2003?
One would think that with today's tuition, all the latest versions for any and all software would be available.
(Unless they've been sleeping ;-))

Yes, just be sure to "Save As" in the 2003 format so you can still open and edit it at school.
