Isn't it unfair for us to want them to leave since all of california nevada arizona utah newmexico and a good chunk of texas was land of mexico's UNTIL us AMericans came and STOLE IT FROM MEXICO.... STOLE!? Life over there isn't that great, why else would they want to come over here where they have a CHANCE to live freely and with food in thier bellies.

COULD ANY OF YOU honestly say after looking into the eyes of your hungry children (with no hope for a better life in mexico) that you wouldn't do whatever in the world it took, to give them a life where they don't go to bed starving and they don't wake up each morning with out a future?... I would just like any DECENT parent hopefully would. I know we have a problem with taxes, jobs and money and all of that...but there has to be another way... they are not all bad criminals who smuggle drugs in... there are genuinely great people who want a better life... just like any one else....

the United States offered to purchase California from Mexico, for $5 million and $25 million, respectively. The Mexican government refused the opportunity to sell half of its country to Mexico's most dangerous neighbor

don't get me wrong I LOVE THIS NATION ... I cry when when the star spangled banner plays... I know we have something good... But why can't we share it? Why are our children more important than others... ? This land was native americans and mexicans before it was ours...! yes we gave them money but it wasn't worth it to them

2007-10-11 07:46:20 · update #4

I'm having a hard time understanding why.... I AM SO LUCKY to be born in a winderful country with great things, but that I shouldn't shareit. What if YOU were born into Mexico? would you just let your life waste away or... would you try to better your self... move to the land of oppertunity?

2007-10-11 07:54:06 · update #5

Actually the price of illegal immigration can be close to 8,000 dollars now... If it is so easy to come here legally then why would they waste that much money... And Just for your info, usually mexicans have some one already here lend them the money until they make it over here. I don't blieve it's right but I do believe there's not too many reasonable options

What's funny is that this land was "founded" by immigrants! (Let's not forget Native Americans) The very first immigrants to come to America were the Pilgrims. Ironic that they were trying to begin a society based on freedom and liberty and how now it's being denied to those who seek it.

I come from one illegal immigrant parent and one American so I see the pros and cons on both sides. While one taught us how to work hard, the other taught us to continue the free edcuation provided. My one parent has more than paid her right to be here by starting her business adn paying taxes like everyone else. We got a good edcuation and we all do charity work. Unlike the guy who said that they come ehre jsut to take from the country.
Mexico isn't all that bad. What they lack is the opportunity for free education, so the ones who can afford it know the proper channels to get a work visa and such. The despreate ones come here based on hope. Instead of acting like idiots (like most Americans do) we need to provide the information so they can come into the country and be sure who it is that comes in and out. But people somehow turn this into some racial ****.
most businesses are tranfering entire companies to other countries because they know they can produce more else where at a lesser wage, so I guess it really doesnt matter that Americans fell that immigrants take their jobs. the debate is stupid and as a neighbor country we should be helping

First of all , most of the illegal immigrants had jobs when they left Mexico, most paid someone 5,000 dollars to sneak them into the USA. I do not know any so called middle class families that have 5,000 to go anywhere.
You are being feed a line of crap! Please do more research on the opposition.
Because of illegal immigration many legal American families have been put into poverty and someone needs to feed those big eyes. I am sorry but I will take care of my own first.
We can not take care of all of the worlds poor without becoming poor ourselves!

They just want a better live is all well and good. But they start out that life by breaking laws. Anyone who takes the time and trouble to come legally is welcome. But to break the laws of the country you supposedly expect to get a better life from is wrong any way you look at it. I would like a better life too but I cant rob a bank to get it. Breaking the law is breaking the law no matter what the reason.

F*ck you. Correct me if I'm wrong, but you don't have kids or a spouse or a mortgage. Am I right? $10 says I am. I have all that and more. I have to worry about so much. And for you to tell me..

"after looking into the eyes of your hungry children (with no hope for a better life in mexico) that you wouldn't do whatever in the world it took, to give them a life where they don't go to bed starving and they don't wake up each morning with out a future?"

..thats just f*cked up. I've done EVERYTHING for my kids, my wife, and all of our earthly posessions. None of it was illegal. None of it involved stepping on anyones toes. None of it was immoral. These people have no desency. No care for their fellow man. So I say f*ck them and their kids. You wanna do all kinds of illegal stuff? Stay in your country and ruin your OWN society. Not mine!

Round 'em up, ship 'em back and let Mexico foot the bill.
Why should we enable corrupt governments to continue to exploit their poor?
Why don't the Mexican poor foment change on their own government for a change?

I think, you need to think Straight. Imagine for example that someone sneek inside your house(Property) at night, clean your home and demand the right to own your house after a while? How do you feel. Don't you love your nation?.
Show them a way to come in this 21st century but do not encourage them.

As the first person stated, the land was purchased.

If you fully believe your second paragraph, you would also have to support releasing people from prison that commit armed robberies, burglaries, theft and fraud if they were stealing to support their families.

Entering the country without permission is against the law.

I look in the eyes of my children going to substandard schools WE pay for that cost us taxpayers $10,000 per child per year, where all language programs have been cut out of middle school for OUR children to fund ESL and programs for the children of those illegally here. When they graduate middle school, OUR children are the only non-bilingual children in the room, at OUR expense. Their programs have systematically been cut, it isn't just language. OUR children's opportunities are limited as OUR children's schools are failing where illegal immigrants concentrate and send their children to school.

Their children are NOT more important than our own, and WE are the ones footing the bill.

you are asking white people to have a heart?

what happened to the native Americans who inhabited this land before the white man? do you see any of them left? what about the Africans that were stolen to work in this country like animals?

you expect them to have compassion for the Mexican?
