Sorry, this is extremely gross, but ... I have a few questions:

1) How much needs to be in the cup for a test for h. pylori? I know that a urine sample needs to only be a few drops... but what about a stool sample?

2) How the hell am I supposed to get my poo to break off? It's usually at least 1 foot long in one whole piece. Do I try to stop after a few seconds and clinch my buttcheeks to break it off? I swear to God I'm being serious!

Thanks so much! I'll pick a best answer TODAY! Happy pooping to you all!

P.S. My doctor asked me if I was constipated and I said no because I don't think that I am... But I only poop like 2-3 times per week but it is ALWAYS completely normal consistency and just a lot of poo at once. Should I go back and tell her that I AM constipated? I thought that constipation referred to TEXTURE and not so much FREQUENCY? Thanks so much!

2-3 times a week is not constipation as long as it is regular, that is simply your normal. To obtain a specimen, you can put a large bowl in your toilet to catch the feces, then use a clean plastic spoon to scoop enough stool to fill the specimen cup half way. Toss the spoon, dump the bowl and wash it out with bleach and soap. Or use a throw away bowl.

Eeew, but just get a plastic spoon and break some off. It doesn't sound like you're constipated since you have a consistent poop schedule.

Whoa, Baby! Get a new doctor!

"H. pylori is diagnosed through blood, breath, stool, and tissue tests. Blood tests are most common. They detect antibodies to H. pylori bacteria. Blood is taken at the doctor's office through a finger stick."

Find one that'll do the blood test!

no gracie, its not usually done with blood tests. i work in a clinic, either use a bowl and spoon or tongue depressor, or tighten your buttocks. as for your bm cycle, very normal. alot of people dont go every day, then there are some that go three times a day, its just whatever is normal for you. good luck.

Wow... thats way too much info, buddy. I'm sure if you wear latex gloves, you can fill up their little cup without too much of a mess.
