I am totally. Coffee is a stimulant and a diuretic. It wakes you up while leaching water from your body.

In some cultures it is actually used in rituals for the stimulant effects.

I have used it in spells for the stimulant effects when trying to increase the power of a spell. As it is taken from a plant it can be considered a herb of sorts.

Blessings,

I'm very much addicted to coffee. I walked through heavy rain just to get my large coffee from 7-11 this morning. But its better that I be hooked on caffeine than nicotine or cocaine or something like that.

Spiritual significance? I don't think so. My caffeine addiction is physiological and psychological.

I accidently had a sip of my grandma's coffee when I was 6 (I thought it was hot cocoa). It was disgusting. I've never had a sip since. I can't even stand the smell.

I believe any type of addiction is harmful to the soul. We need to learn to overcome the frailities of the physical body.

::waves hand::

Me, me, me!

I don't know if there is a spiritual significance, but it sure is tasty. Maybe the spiritual nature of it is that a nice coffee break makes us slow down and enjoy life a little.

eh. I have a mild dependance, but I also have a shot thyroid so waking up is hard for me. I often regularlly stop to pwn smokers I know who say I can't do it... Usually after the 5th or 6th week of no caffeine and me asking if they've quit yet they cry uncle and I start hitting Tim Hortons every morning.

It was harder to quit nutrasweet and bottled water, though.

Fun fact. There is a small group of Fundamentalist Christians who say that consuming Caffeine, and coffee by proxy, is a sin because it is a drug that affects God's temple (our body).

I tried to wean myself off coffee a couple months ago, and it didn't work. That's okay though, there are worse addictions I could have.

I'm not, the stuff gives me a headache for some reason. I'm fine with tea and soda though.. weird stuffs.

I know that LDS do not drink coffee, it is one of their commandments. (I think it says hot drinks or something).
