RUNZA

1 lb. ground beef
1 onion, chopped
1 1/2 c. grated cabbage
2 tbsp. butter
1/2 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp. salt
1 recipe sweet roll dough

This recipe takes time to prepare but the results are well worth the effort! Begin making dough around 3 hours before you want dinner to be ready (I usually double that recipe so I can make cinnamon rolls too!). While dough is rising, start on this: Grate cabbage into bowl; set aside. Melt butter in a skillet, then pour it over the cabbage. In the same skillet, brown the ground beef; drain well. Add the onions, pepper, and salt. Stir well over low heat for a few minutes.
Remove from heat and stir in cabbage mixture. Divide dough into 1/2. Roll first 1/2 out on floured surface to 10 x 20 inches. Cut into 1/2 lengthwise, then 4 across to make 8 squares. Put approximately 1/3 cup hamburger filling on each square. Pick up the 4 corners and pinch dough to seal seams. Place seam side down on greased cookie sheet. Repeat with other 1/2 dough. Let rise 30 to 45 minutes until doubled. Bake at 375 degrees for 18 to 25 minutes or until golden brown. Serve with hot mustard.
