The war in Iraq is reminiscent of conquests of Sargon of Akkad around 2300 BC but I think a more likely comparison is the Sicilian wars 480 - 370 BC.

Not at all...Iraq is a campaign, Waterloo was one battle. Also, Waterloo was basically two sides on one pitch fighting, leading to (obviously) a British victory, and well deserved too. The war in Iraq is fought in streets and hiding in buildings than like a large battle...

How can you equate a battle with a war??

Particularly the War in Iraq and the Battle of Waterloo from 18 June 1815.

One is a part of the whole!!!

It is not even close. Waterloo delt with two large armies in set battle. Iraq is one army fighting insurgents that hide with civilians.
