"And every priest stands ministering daily and offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God, from that time waiting till His enemies are made His footstool. For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified"

Yes, definitely.

On the cross, he took away all our sins away. That is the reality in eternity. We see now only in time, but in eternity, we are perfect. And God sees in eternity; he sees the whole of time as one piece.

It is a very deep concept but it is so beautiful. Praise God ... He will cover anyone that asks with his perfection. He has already paid the price for our screw-ups, for our pain. It is very powerful.

I'm encouraged to know that other mature Christians are here to answer questions, and to pose thought provoking questions. Hebrews 10:11-12 (above) is a powerful passage. Sin separates us from fellowship with God. The Old Testament Jews sacrificed animals as sin offerings for their nation, over and over again. Jesus' willing sacrifice as the only permanent sin offering to all peoples was necessary to allow us to share fellowship with Him.

It's like we went to the same school with Him. We didn't study, flunked all the tests, were in trouble with our parents and the principal daily. But He got straight A+'s was a model student and son. He exchanged his "report card" with ours, and we get the credit for His perfect record...and he got the punishment for our less than acceptable report.

1) That is referring to the Jewish Aaronic priests: Yes, I believe this.
2) No, you are not perfect while on earth. That is what "growing in sanctification" means

we are not perfect we are forgiven. we believe this but you need to read the whole thing for it to make sense to you, and even then it will only make sense if the holy spirit reveals the meaning to you, something that will not happen to non-Christians. just read all of Hebrews 10.
