Okay I may sound like I had a bad drug trip but I don't do drugs. Last night I laid down to go to sleep and as soon as I closed my eyes I was drifting to sleep in a semi concious state. I all of a sudden hear feed back in my ears like when static is on the TV. Only thing is everything was off. no tv raido nothing. I then felt my heart began to race I was trying to wake up and I finally forced my self to wake up. I then closed my eyes and it happened again. I was a little freaked out. so I laid there until i finally fell asleep. I know it was not something I watched because I didn't turn on the Tv or he raido when I came home I was too busy cleaning up the house. I know It sounds crazy but I wanted to see if someone every had this experience or something like it. Only serious response please!
Thank you!

You probably started to get sleep paralysis. When you start falling asleep part of your brain shuts down. The first thing to go is your hearing, then your brain shuts down your motor skills, "paralyzes" you so you don't act out your dreams. If you become conscious or aware of it while it's happening it's pretty scary. It happens to me all the time especially if I'm really tired. It kind of feels like you're wrapped in saran wrap and it feels like it's getting tighter around your body. You probably were having an anxiety attack or "panic attack" when your heart was racing. But it was because you were freaked out from what was going on, which is when humans are supposed to have panic attacks. Anxiety "disorder" is when you have those feelings for absolutely no reason at all. Like if you had a feeling like that during the day while you're talking to your friends, then you might have an anxiety disorder.

actually it sounds like you had an anxiety attack. They happen when we are at our most relaxed usually, the sound you heard was your blood pressure going up due to the release of adrenaline by your brain causing the anxiety attack and all the symptoms that go with them, like rapid heart rate, some times chest pain shortness of breath and obsessive thinking patterns. It is all part of what psychologists have termed the fight or flight response of the body to a burst of the hormone adrenaline released by the brain in a dangerous or exciting situation. However, anxiety disorder causes this to happen when you are not in such a situation. Discuss it with your doctor, there are meds that can help to prevent such attacks. There are also classes you can take to learn to deal with the attacks when they do occur. Adrenaline only lasts fifteen minutes in the body, so if you learn to simply relax thru such an attack by focusing on your breathing and not thinking about anything else that you are experiencing, it will pass in 15 minutes or less.
