A few weeks ago I accidentally drank some milk with an expiration date of August 19th. It tasted almost like Limeade, minus the sugar.

No way...For some reason it has an expiration date.
To begin with, milk is not very healthy. Just put a .....half...glass of milk, and empty it in 10 minutes. You'll notice a ring around the glass..tht ring shows you how it is your intestine after drink Whole Milk. You can try low fat. No whole, but above all, look in tetra pack, a small number on the top (in the back) and that is the times it had been reclycled. You can drink it if the number is maybe 2 but no more and never an expired one. Nothing expired. Smile.

If it had been properly stored and it smelt/tasted O.K.
The expiration date is a guide. It also assumes that you treat the product correctly. Would you drink milk that had an expiration date of the end of next week, but had been left in 80 degree temperature all day?

Not without a pretty good reason. Of course it would probably still be okay, but I had some slightly off milk on some cereal once and it put me off milk for about four months. It's a very inconvenient thing to develop a taste aversion to, and humans develop taste aversions very easily.

The expiration date is just a sell by date so yeah, I would. I would make sure it didn't last long though.

Yes, bad milk is easy to tell as it starts to sour. Not only that, but cheese, butter and sour cream all start out as sour milk/cream.
This and other partially rotten foods that we eat (kraut, kimchee, etc) would seem to lend support that we were scavengers in the recent past.

Depends on if it was the actual expiration date or the "sell by" date. If it was the "sell by" date you're fine, but I'd still sniff it first. ;-)

Is this the equivalent of drinking water out of a horse's hoof print and being glad to get it?
