I have recently started a magazine company called 2Sides that has this very goal in mind.
I am looking for moderate, responsible voices who are willing to write for publication, and state their cases without getting involved in the bashing, name-calling, and partisan BS.
The magazine's website is still under construction, but you can have a look at www.2sidesmagazine.com
Check out the letter from the editor and read some of the articles, most of which NEED OPPOSING ARTICLES.
I figure if you are willing to write on Y!Answers, maybe you'd be interested in getting published as well.
Send an email to this Y!Answers account if you want more info.
Thanks

Interesting idea, but I don't see how it will end the debate. The website looks like a debate website.

Also, what is a moderate voice? Every time I see or hear someone who says they are a moderate I find someone without any real principles or beliefs. Moderate means you stand in the middle, but there is often no real middle ground. Tell me where is the middle on these issues...

Global Warming - either we are causing Global Warming or we are not. There is not middle ground.

Abortion - either abortion is murder or it is not. There is no middle ground.

There are some issues I can see a middle ground. You can be for gun registration, but not bans and be more moderate. You can believe in alternative tax structures that are revenue neutral. However, in most cases moderate means spineless.

We need more transparency in government. If both sides of the aisle were forced together in one room it would be much harder for them to say nasty things about each other. Congress should learn to move in a 21st Century Pace. We pay their salaries with our tax dollars. They should have to account for how they spend their time and our money. They need to spend less time debating things like the General Petraus comment in the New York Times or Rush Limbaugh's statements and more time on solving the real issues facing our country.

Political bickering between the Democrats and Republicans must not be based on false accusations resulting to disunity and polarization. Only constructive criticisms must be used to comment so that the people will still believe in government that is supposed to serve them.
