It's kind of like Murphy's Law. They just KNOW the most inopportune time!!! It's something they were born with. The story of their lives.

On one hand it is good to be the nest they can go back to, but on the other hand there should be limits.

If your adult kids have moved back in with you, you need to give them a firm move-out date, perhaps saying that you are downsizing to a much smaller domicile in a senior development... anything to light a fire under their tushie.

In the meantime, take advantage of them being there by making them earn their keep... painting, gardening, lawn-mowing... the stuff you would like to get around to doing. Chances are, that alone will be adequate impetus to move back out of your house.

Because parenting is the only job in the world that does not have a quitting time...

Apparently, we are on duty 24/7 but we knew that going into it, we just didn't think it was really true!!!

Because spineless parents have not instilled in them the basic values of self-worth, self respect and basic dignity.

They come back because ... parents have failed.

They have a sixth sense and just know that something is going on that they need to be part of, or so they think......

because they have their own selfish agenda...and they don't give a hoot about your "awkward" time. You didn't let them back in, did you?
