I'm a "fundie" Christian and a sinner. I have a duty to tell unsaved people about the wonderful love and salvation I've found in Christ, and more importantly, to *show* them, by my changed life, that JESUS IS THE REAL DEAL.
But I have NO right to tell people they are bound for Hell; ONLY God can say that!!! I shudder to think what God will say to some Christians who have dared to judge others in His Name. In fact, some of that "you're going to Hell" talk almost sounds like gloating, as if they are pleased at the idea of someone being damned forever.
I don't mind what the unsaved believe; after all, they *are* unsaved, aren't they? It's kind of annoying when they make spiteful and trollish attacks on us, but then, didn't Jesus warn us that we would be reviled for Him? Considering what the early Christians suffered for their faith, I don't think we have much cause for complaint.
A very good question. God bless you!

This is not for all Christians, because most are nice. I would say most of the bad behavior I've seen has been from the fundamental Christians. I dislike how they are so arrogant as to believe that they are special, above all others, and because they believe that they are "saved", they can act anyway they wish to anyone who believes differently than themselves. I dislike how they actually tell people that they are going to hell and will burn for all eternity with glee. They actually do say that they can't wait to see it. As if they will be in heaven watching and rubbing their palms together. I dislike how they insist on pushing to have THEIR religion taught in public schools, without any consideration for any other religion. THEIR religion, THEIR god, THEIR creationism...no one else's view. They truly do believe that because they are in the majority, they rule. They are the most self-centered, selfish, judgmental people.

I was raised Muslim, but my grandparents were Christian. My parents would allow us to go to church with our grandparents, so that we would learn and understand that not everyone shared our religious beliefs. But as human beings we needed to respect peoples differences whether we agreed with them or not. Most of the Christians that I met were kind, but a lot of times when you visited a church everyone would be very pushy and try to convert you. It would have been nice to just go and visit and not have to worry about being bombareded with kindness, for the sake of conversion. I believe what I believe, and I have strong beliefs about a lot of things, but no matter what religion a person is, it is not people who convert people, God is the one who controls the good and the bad. The only thing a person can do is set a good example, and truly from their heart. If it is for someone to accept, they will.I believe that a person can believe, but not be compelled to act. That is where God comes into the picture, we have to be guided by him. Most people are good, but don't always act on what they know. The truth is right in front of us, and it has always been that way.
I have met Christians that were kind and were very gracious, but I have met all kinds of people from different faiths. At our Mosque a Rabbi and Catholic priest came to visit us, for the sake of understanding. It ultimately comes down to character. I have found kindness everywhere. But , I do not have to emulate the religious practices and beliefs of those that are different from mine, for me to respect them and vice versa. I do not have the right to say whether someone is going to hell. That is why it is called judgment day and I will have to stand before God for my good and bad deeds, just as anyone else.

I agree with you. I really don't care what a person believes or what they do for those beliefs as long as they aren't hurting anybody else. This includes telling other people that they are going to Hell and also trying to change the laws of the land to reflect their point of view.
My real anger comes when Christians try to 1) have their religious views taught as science, 2) prevent medical treatments that are desperately needed, and 3) have their religious views and icons displayed at the entrances to courthouses.
But if you want to believe in pink fairies and want to tatoo pictures of them on your tongue and believe that the Mother Ship is going to come and pick you up and take you to another galaxy - go right ahead.

Your question is valid, but you have to remember the world is made up of many different belifs and arguments.
But, what did Jesus say?
Mr 13:13
And everyone will hate you because of your allegiance to me. But those who endure to the end will be saved.
Lu 6:27
"But if you are willing to listen, I say, love your enemies. Do good to those who hate you.
Joh 3:20
They hate the light because they want to sin in the darkness. They stay away from the light for fear their sins will be exposed and they will be punished.
Joh 15:21
The people of the world will hate you because you belong to me, for they don't know God who sent me.
I'd say you're in good company.
God Bless You
Oh, in case you didn't know, I am proud to be a Christian:)

What you believe determines how you behave. If you do not believe in a God, then you will act as if there is no God - abusing your own body and those of others, which is really what disobedience against God's commandments comes down to. If you believe in a God, then you will act in accordance with that God's rules for living.
You are right, everyone has a "right" to believe what they want, but the mistake is in believing that those beliefs have no consequences. It doesn't matter whether you believe the Bible or not; you will be judged by it. You can stand in front of a tidal wave and repeat "I don't believe in tidal waves, I don't believe in tidal waves" over and over again, but that won't keep the tidal wave from washing you away.

I dislike what Christians believe. I only dislike them personally if they are jerks. There are only a handful of those on this board.

I think with anyone it is how the person acts. How they treat you. What they believe is private, but how someone treats you is an indicator of what kind of person they are.
