It depends how confident you are.
Texts are cute but they can seem a bit like "i couldn't be arsed to ask you in person... this text will do."
The best way is to ask her face to face.
Pick a good place when you are both alone.
If you cant, then ask her at school or where ever.
Just ask her if she would like to go somewhere with you like the cinema rather than "will you go out with me?" which might make her feel a bit overwhelmed, if she doesn't know that you like her.
A date before officially going out is always best.

Just ask. Learn how to be natural and not too shy. To some, it takes time to become comfortable with this problem. However, it [asking girls out] is a must in life.

Make sure you know her, or you know she likes you before you ask her anything. When you are talking to her one day ask her what she is up to on the weekend and see if she would like to see a movie or if you want to do somethign in the day- do something really fun!! like going to the beach, or paintball with friends! Be yourself! Be confident! and be comfortable!

First start a simple conversation with her and then if things flow right just ask the question it is that easy and the longer you wait the harder it will be to ask.

Girls love it when you're honest with them. so just tell ask her if she'd like to go out sometime. she won't bite, unless she's kinky like that. the worst she can do is say no and that way you can move on for better chances.
