I'd like to see local up and coming backs performing around NYC, do you know of a website where I might find listings for bands playing in the city?

I may not agree with the Politics of the Village Voice, but they are the source of music in this city. You can pick up a "Voice" free at many street corners here with print listings of all shows, but this search box makes it a bit easier.

Try ohmyrockness.com. They have a little bit of a tilt towards indie rock, but they do cover many other types of music. Either way, it's a great site that I use all the time.

You can also try www.tributecity.com although it has mostly tribute bands, they do sometimes play their own stuff.
