I mean, we historians who know that Jesus did not exist in history have scoured and researched all the Christian sources and stupid sources, like TEKTONICS as well.

We know about Josh MacDowell, C.S. Lewis' Mere Christianity, Ravi Zacharias, Answersingenesis, etc, etc...

But whenever I demonstrate to Christians how Jesus never existed, they continually resort to these same sources, which I must show to them constantly how those Christian sources are short-sighted, or just plain wrong!

I mean, some of these Christian sources actually KNOW-BETTER! How can Christians so easily rationalize lying and manipulation?

you are obviously at the lower end of your historian buddies. the bible is used as a tool by many secular historians in dating historic events. you truly are a fool for denying even the existence of Jesus. no wonder you have to come on this site to voice your absurd opinions because I'm sure no one in your profession listens to you and rightly so.

So you say that you don't believe Jesus existed and you want to convince a believer of that. My question to you is why do you even want to involve yourself with that argument. All I know is when they engage me with thier reasoning I simply say " I really find that fascinating but I do not assume that any one I come to meet needs me to have them change, so thank you anyway. If you want me to be considerate please be considerate that I choose to beleive something else. " That seems to work with most if they continue to prosthelitize I am not as cordial and say " Why take the speck out of someone elses eye while you have a log in your own or in laymens terms please only clean your back yard and leave mine alone get the picture." and have walked away. The next time I have come to that same person they seem to understand and if they still want to see me as a challenge, I explain that anger is a fear based emotion and now I am getting angry and my fear is that I feel insulted that they do not respect my wishes and they truely do not want to continue to disrepecting my beliefs. This reacenlty happened at my school by another student and I was kind and cordial at first, but when I said " The first time you explained your position the second time you were nagging now it is annoying and if this continues we will have some issues to take up with the school I hope that it does not have to come to that. " What I am saying is, Why must you be just like them?

First of all, it's rather near-sided of you to ignorantly catagorize "all christians" into your little basket.

Secondly, not "all" Christians use "only" Christian sources.

Thirdly, you are bringing about many different topics/questions. Sounds like you just need to vent or unload, rather than what this part of the site is for.. to ask a question.

Fourthly, if you are a mechanic, why would you resort to books on gardening? If you are a chef, would you rely heavily on resources of piloting an aircraft? Come on! Get real! Christians do rely heavily on Christian sources because it is the source and subject material they are needing. Duh.

Aside from all that, your demonstration of how Jesus never existed is based on what? YOUR sources. Why don't you do what you are shouting about! Why are you relying on non-Christian sources? Why not do what you're preachin, and go to Christian sources to prove your non-provable point?

Hmm. Food for thought.

I'm supposed to take your word for it? What are your sources, and who are they?

The fact of the matter is, VERY few historians try to insist that the historical Jesus never existed. There are writings about Jesus dating back to within sixty years of His death (and resurrection), which cannot be said for ANYONE else in history.

I could make my case, but it sounds like you've already made up your mind.

Gee, I wonder why you haven't studied the Roman records of this time?
Is it because somebody here doesn't want to see the truth that Jesus exits even in secular documentation?
Your no true historian.

Could it be because that only Christian sources uphold Christian "evidence" and everything else (scientific, historic, etc.) do not? *gasp* Shocking...! O_O

Because only Christian sources confirm Christian doctrine.

"Christians" aren't actually interested in the truth. They only respond to statements that resonate with their programming.

"To those who have stultified themselves, who have darkened their own eyes, who have betrayed their own reason in seeking out phantastic gods, foul and tangled cobwebs of metaphysics spun by emasculate spider-professors in sunless cloisters, bubbles blown by idiots and madmen, myths misinterpreted, fables taken for history, lies pushed forward by every engine of forgery, fraud, intrigue, treachery, and murder - to such Truth seems false, and the Light darkness."

Christians are interested in anything that supports them. Much like a depressed person only sees the negative in life or the positive person looking for the good.

Its blind, yes, but, they will not see it. They will come up with reasons as to why it makes sense, why they aren't wrong, anything. It's called clinging
