If your bird is not manifesting signs of being sick, it appears your bird is overweight!
Since I don't know what you are feeding it, I can't tell you what to eliminate from it's diet!
If you are giving your bird treats like peanuts, cut back drastically as these are probably the problem!
Take your bird out of the cage and play with it often in a way that it can get exercise by walking around on the floor, bed or couch.
Please ask another question in which you provide more specifics in regards to what your bird is, what you are feeding it, how old it is, if it's wings are clipped, how long you have had it, etc.

Please drop everything immediately and get him to an avian vet ASAP. Both sitting on the bottom of the cage AND insatiable appetite are signs of illness, including PDD (Proventricular Dilation Disease). Here is some more info on PDD:
Proventricular Dilation Disease (PDD) Symptoms: Progressive weight loss despite ravenous appetite Passage of undigested foods and regurgitation Central nervous systems signs include weakness and seizuring A combination of gastric disorders and central nervous system disorders More common in adult birds than young birds
Diagnosis: Acute phase- suspected in birds with very short digestion, food goes in and comes out very quickly Chronic phase- suspected in birds with delayed digestion, food goes in and stays in Crop biopsy positive in 76 of reported cases
Transmission: Not confirmed but believed by direct or indirect contact with virus
Control: No test No vaccine Avoid direct or indirect contact with affected or exposed birds Virus is believed to be inactivated by good hygiene measures
Treatment: No cure! Supportive care, special diet, and broad spectrum antibiotics as needed Unknown if contagious to humans but there have been no reported cases
There are other possibilities... but you need to get him to an avian vet immediately. Birds often hide illness in order to not be picked off by prey or picked on by flock mates (in the wild). Chances are if you're bird IS showing these signs of illness, he is very ill.
Best of luck to you.

As far as I can tell, he's stressed.
Buy him cuttlefish which is really cheap and is full of minerals and vitamins.
Mineral bars and seeds and all type of suplements are available in any pet shop.
Bird grit is essential of all birds, it helps them with their digestion.
Do give your parrot LOTS of fruits and veg. NEVER give chocolate or avocado, they're the most toxic ones.
Parrots absolutely love apples, I would say lettuce is not very healthy for them.
hope this helps:)

That last answer was great but please dont listen to him when he says to feed your bird grit. do NOT feed your bird grit. grit is for birds like doves who swallow seeds whole and the grit helps the birds break down the seed. Parrots, unlike doves and most other soft billed birds, eat the seed in parts not swallowing them whole so there is no need for grit.
