Where marty plays "Johnny B Good" at the dance? Does it ever strike you as odd that the band at the dance is all black guys but its supposed to be the 1950s...I'm pretty sure black musicians playing at a high school event would have caused an uproar at that time. It would probably have been more accurate had they made it white musicians playing black music.

But then they couldn't have made that joke about chuck berry's cousin being in the band and calling him up.

Do you believe in God?

Let's get this straight. You have a problem with black musicians but not with making a time machine out of a DeLorean?

There were plenty of black music groups in the fifties on television and radio, many who had been popular in the mainstream among all audiences, so I don't see how that hiring such a group for a high school dance would be seen as unusual.

Though I do believe in God, I have times when I have questions nonetheless. But I find it curious how many atheists actually spend time answering questions in the Religion & Spirituality section. What are you guys doing here?

Jeez, you remind me of my husband. He loves to point out that kind of stuff in movies and take all the fun out of it. If he said this to me I would say "So, you believe that time travel is possible, but you don't believe there could be a black band playing at the dance?"

Oh, I am an atheist.

the late fifties were when black bands and Rock and Roll singers were becoming popular. Chuck Berry, Fats Domino, . So my opinion is that it was correct for the timeframe it was trying to depict.

Yes, absolutely I believe in GOD my LORD who created and loves us, including atheist people. God gave them His love and freedom to believe or not.
About the movie: Yes you said it, it´s a kind of inaccurate an African-American band playing at a prom in 1950s, but they wanted to depict the boom of that music from the black roots. Proud!

Are you questioning the brilliance of the Back to the Future ? No, I don't believe in God but I'm not gonna fight the losing battle against that trilogy...

I believe in god like I believe in Back to the Future. The movie is imaginary, and so is God.

Fortunately I'm young enough not to have had to experience this sort of thing back in the fifties...

No god, thank you.

Yeah, I remember the scene, just not the band...don't remember that much detail I guess.

And yes I believe in God...many gods to be precise.
