Kids get it from other kids also, so the cat may not be involved at all.

The same medicine can be used on both. It'll take a few weeks, but it's completely treatable.

We had a cat that had ringworm and everyone in the house even the dog got it. Everyone was put on medication. The cat had to be seperated from evrything. We had to bath the cat 3 times a week. It was a nightmare. Talk about itchy... We did get rid of it... Better get the cat checked before you get it.

It is spread through touching the cat or even the infected hairs that he shed somewhere in the house. The vet gave me a special shampoo for my cats called Malaseb. I had to shampoo my cats twice a week and apply a topical anti-fungal cream twice a day to my cats (then to myself once I got it). I also had to clean every surface in my house thoroughly every day. Vacuum everything, steam clean everything that you can, use hot water and bleach on all surfaces that you can. It's very difficult to get rid of but if you are diligent you can get rid of it. Good Luck.

Once you have started the cat and children on a medication program, you will need to strip the beds and wash everything. Spray the mattresses with whatever the doctor suggest. Wash down all chairs and cushions.

In truth, you need to get rid of the kitty unless you have him/her in the house to keep mice away.

Ring worm is a fungal infection ... topically spot-apply kerosene, and it should kill the fungus. And yes, it's spread through contact. Avoid touching the cat when ever you can, until it clears up - also do not let the cat on any bedding, clothing, furniture, etc.

Ring worm is fungal and very contagious. You can get it by touching the cat, and then touching anywhere on yourself. My cat had it as a kitten. The vet gave us a special shampoo to use on him weekly. Was hard to get rid of, but it is gone. Call the vet.

Ringworms are viral. We use iodine applied directly to the affected area and make sure we wash hands frequently.

it is basically the same problem as Jock itch. If you look at the label you will find that it is listed on there.
