I doubt it. Most of his fans were fans of his fathers that migrated to him after sr's death. Sometimes it pays to have famous parents. That's one of the reason's I am glad to see him seperate himself from the company and try to gain fans for his own merit.

No way would he be as popular if it wasnt for Him dad and his Last Name. _ no disrepect to you the asker of this question or Jr Fans--But this question in this form or a very similar form has been asked here on Yahoo answers at least 100 times and Jr fan after Jr fan have answered that the were an Dale Sr. fan and when he died they became Jr. fans!!!! So these statements by Yahoo answerers confirms that the answer to your question Tripsbaby is a NO.!!!! Now I hope he does better in the 2008 season in the Hendrick cars and better team!!!. In my opinion he is just an average driver there are 5 or 6 other drivers who started out at basically the same time as Jr give or take a year or so either way who have more wins and more poles--and have won Championships where as Jr has not. Kennseth--Kurt Busch--Jimmie Johnson--Tony Stewart--Ryan Newman

No way, he will never be the driver his daddy was. I think there are a lot of other young drivers that are a lot better than he is but they dont have the money support that Jr is getting. Kyle Bush would be a better choice for Hendrix to stay with, in my opinion. Jr complains all the time about his cars no matter how good or bad, mostly even when they are good. Kyle will drive the wheels of a car no matter how bad they handle. I am not a Kyle fan either. Jimmy's the man.

He would still be popular but not nearly as much as he is now. He comes across as just a normal every day guy. He has fun in life and is always positive even when things go poorly.
I think next year we will see the Jr of a few years ago when he won 15 races over 5 years. He very similar stats to Kurt and Matt. The only difference was they won a championship and he finished 3rd.
Jr
285 starts, 17 wins (6%), 76 top 5 (27%), 121 top 10 (42%).
Matt Kenseth
286 starts, 15 wins (5%), 74 top 5 (26%), 137 top 10 (48%).
Kurt Busch
250 starts, 17 wins (7%), 55 top 5 (22%), 102 top 10 (41%).

Probably not the run away mot popular every year, but I think he'd have some popularity and exposure because he has won some. Not as much as others, but everybody acts like he's never won anything. The 17 wins is actually more than several other popular guys like Harvick, Kenseth, Biffle, Newman and newer guys like Kahne and Edwards.
I look for better things in '08, and he could still win a race this year. He knows the lead lap better than most.

Well I got into NASCAR because of Jr, I had no idea who his dad was and never saw his dad race. I like Jr because he's so down to earth and he's just a people person.
As for next year, hell yea he's gonna be great!!! I'm a huge Jeff Gordon fan too, but you take him out of his HMS ride and put him in Kenny Schraders car and I guarantee you he wouldn't be winning like he is! Hell for that matter put Ken Schrader in Jeff's car and he'd win at least one time! It's the man and the machine that win! Next year Jr will have both!

Probably not, but since he is young, single I'm sure the young girls would be his fans... But if he was winning races, and still the humble self that he is, he'd have plenty of fans...But its always nice to be the son of a famous person...

I think he would still be very popular. Jr has a great personality and a lot of fans like him because of that.

Yes. He is much more popular than his father ever was. His father alienated a lot of fans because if he couldn't go around someone, he'd wreck them. The only year he was voted most popular was the year he died. Junior has won most popular at least 4 times and is sure to win it again. I think his dad helped him become successful, but many fans who like Junior did not like his dad. I am one of those.

Nope!!!! He would be just another driver. Jr fans blame Teresa for his terrible year, so when he goes to HMS with better engines and better equipment, we'll see if he is the great driver that everyone claims he is. I see no changes, different team, but same driver!!!
