You can obtain a free Microsoft Office trial download or you can go to Google and get Star Office (latest and greatest) by Sun the makers of Open Office for free.

Nope. There's no such thing as a free download of Microsoft Office. Not one that's **legal**, anyway, which means that there isn't one that I would trust enough to install it on my computer.

You need to either just resign yourself to shelling out some money to buy Office, or look into low-cost or free alternatives, such as OpenOffice, like Stu suggested. OpenOffice is fully compatible with MS Office and you can download it from www.openoffice.org for free! However, it's a 90+ meg download, so you need to either have a high-speed connection or spend a few dollars (just a few, as in less than $10) to order a CD with the OO installation file.

BUT there is a free alternative available

www.openoffice.org for a FREE M$ Office compatible office suite.
