Whenever i have great sex... my best orgasms always make me cry afterwards. I'm not sad, or hurt, or upset... i'm completely at ease because i just had the best feeling in the world. So why do i cry?

Does anybody know the scientific and biological reasoning behind this?

Crying is an emotional release and can follow any intense emotions, whether they be happiness, sadness, anger or in this case extreme physical and emotional joy.

The answer is not any different than why do we cry when we're hurt. The simplest scientific explanations tend to link crying and tears to the earliest development of human infants, who use this form of emotional expression so that needs will be met and comfort will be offered.

In their most basic form, tears triggered by emotional responses are a very visible form of communication that aren't easily overlooked.

Some theories indicate that adult humans use crying and tears for similar though more sophisticated purposes as infants, both to communicate emotion and to ask for comfort.

Hi Jenna,

Have you heard the expression, " Tears of Joy " ? That would most certainly apply to your question.

In reality, the scientific and biological reasoning could be considered one and the same as long as the person answering the question knows the difference between the two.

One of the very special charactics of a woman would be her extremely high degree of emotional make up.

Women also possess the ability to do both right and left brain processing simultaneously which, in addition to providing them with more brain power than a man, it also gives them the ability to experience anything with a very high level of emotional sensation, and than is brought about by the locical side and emotional sides of the brain working in two way simultaneity, or in more basic wording, in unison.

That would explain why a woman may laugh at a funeral, and cry when experiencing something very special, such as you mention in relating to making love and that is due to any experience being directly coupled to the emotional lobe of her very special brain makeup.

All of the above is also amplified by high levels of hormones, primary being estrogen, which make almost any experience to be a highly emotional and extremely enjoyable sensation.

When I make love to a woman, I take the time to not only arouse her physically, but also to bring her to a very high state of emotional presence which by uniting her physical and emotional senses, is guaranteed to help her to experience a climax that could be compared to the super nova of a giant star, in a galaxy far, far away or to the gentle smile of a baby who feels love from his or her parents.

I apologize for going to such depth, but consider this, a woman is a very special and complex being that cannot be explained away in a few simple words.

Thank you Jenna for allowing me the opportunity of answering your special question and I made my best attempt at providing you with an answer that is accurate, correct and realitive to your question asked.

Have a very special and nice day,

Darryl S.

I've definitely cried before... sometimes I just get so overcome with emotion and it's a huge emotional release. Most of the time I laugh after an orgasm. No, not because he was horrible or bad, either. >=P I don't really know why I laugh afterwards, but I do...

Well this is the first time I hear something like this but maybe its because the love you feel is so great it brings you to tears.

But I honestly thinks it because of all the emotions and feeling one is having during that time. I mean its nothing weird about you crying. I just think that you get a different reaction everyone gets a different reactions. The reactions each women get its just there own and its an unexplainable feeling.

it just relaxes you to a point of exhaustion. All of your emotions have come to a peak and crying is like the frosting on the cake... Its not a bad thing... Its wonderful... Sweetie be happy with this and don't worry.. There are a percentage of women n in this world who never have or ever will reach a climax... (now they should be the criers right?) Good luck, good sex and good tears.... Grant M in Pennsylvania

Good Question!! I'd like to know as well!! I often thought it's because you women loved the feeling of a giant orgasm so much, then you realize you ain't gonna have one for at least 12 hours, so you cry, because you don't wanna wait that long!!

I may be wrong, but I'm a guy...we cry when we DON'T get to orgasm!!!

Its the massive rush of endorphins released into your system which determines your moods and emotions. Some women cry, others burst out laughing. Its such a powerful release that you have little control over it.

I remember crying a few times after a great orgasm, and I have no clue why either. Maybe certain hormones are released that trigger that emotion.
