I see! Your family did not drink, either !!
There are times when a shot of something or other is just the ticket.....not to be made a habit of or you will not function well ...these things are just a temporary crutch
**.sometimes a little rum in hot tea ....
**I sometimes like some Dubonnet Rouge ....
**a hot toddy is made of a little brandy or cognac, some hot water, a pat of butter and a little spoonful of sugar .....
**the thing that put me to sleep one time when I was suffering on several levels was a half shot of Southern Comfort, a blended whiskey made here in the States: that *really* did it.
Otherwise, in the non-alcoholic category / I know you asked for something alcoholic, but in case you find it not necessary to go that far and still need something:
** hot milk with honey is good,
** Indian tea is fantastic; it's made with tea steeped in half milk / half water, sweetened and flavored with a slice of fresh ginger or a crushed green cardamom pod, available in Indian stores
** a bowl of hot rice pudding is really nice as is
** your favorite sandwich......

Beer (fermented grain and hops) probably isn't best for fallig asleep. Wine (fermented grapes) would do the trick pretty nicely, red or white (white is easier to just drink though). Champagne (sparkling wine) gives many people headaches and gets you drunk a lot faster, I wouldn't use it to fall asleep. Brandy (distilled wine) is an excellent choice, a shot of it in a cup of tea with lemon and honey, perfect, you'll be out before you know it. Liquor (distilled grains/sugar/potatoes etc) might work but they're harder to drink and may make you wired. Doctors say that for men under 65, 2 drinks a day really does wonders for your heart, it staves off heart attack, cardiodisease and keeps the blood flowing. The same is true for women and men over 65 but reduce to one drink a day. Alcohol gets a bad rap around most of the country, luckily for me I'm from the NorthEast and here we love our booze! Lastly, if you're having trouble sleeping, try some exercise during the day and have a light snack a little before bed. If all else fails, try tylenol PM, unisom or advil PM. Sleep Well!

If you think that alcohol is the only way to get some sleep, I seriously suggest starting out with Nyquil. Then you can try a wine cooler (I don't drink beer so I won't suggest that but since you're a dude you won't look so "girly") and work your way up to the real good stuff.
But if you've never drank before, then I really don't think you should start now. If you've got a problem sleeping and have too much stress, you should see a doctor to find out what's causing that behavior.

Not a good reason to start using a probably addictive substance. Yoga is better..
If you like the taste of beer, one beer would be more than enough. A small glass of wine of something that you like or a single shot, NOT a jigger, of whiskey.
If you do decide to go with an alcoholic beverage of some kind, be very careful. Alcohol addiction can sneak up on you and you will not even notice.

You don't really have to start drinking. I would see if I can find a yoga or other stress reducer type activity.
I do drink & I don't have any problems with it, but it isn't anything you need to do! I drink wine, as they say red wine has compounds in it that are good for you in moderation. Beer is mostly water & you maybe up during the night to do what you have to do!
Brandy is fortified wine & tends to have a strong flavor. Champagne is a light wine & is usually tollerable.
I would NOT go after the brown liquors.
Truly, if it is that bad, you really don't need alcohol...try something else.

Alcohol is not a good way to get to sleep. When you drink before bed your body crashes and doesn't usually get any usable rest; not to mention, you will likely wake up through out the night or really early in the morning. I would suggest that you try herbal tea (chamomile is best) or try warm milk. If you decide to go the route of alcohol then try a small glass of wine with your evening meal.

Actually, drinking alcohol doesn't help sleeping habits or tension release. I've noticed that when I go to bed tipsy, I wake up more frequently in the middle of the night. If I don't drink, I sleep all the way through.
Try exercising moderately throughout the day. That will help release tension, and help you fall asleep when you are ready.

My mom and father allowed me to have a pitcher of wine on party at the same time as i changed into youthful (likely a gentle teen?) My mom and father by no skill forbade ingesting yet continuously preached responsibility. I did go by using an element in overdue extreme college and into college the position I drank more desirable heavily, yet i changed into continuously in charge; did not stress inebriated, continuously made particular I had a threat-free position to crash, by no skill were given myself into too a lot problem. My mom and father knew i changed into ingesting in college, yet they relied on me (I by no skill gave them a reason now to not). Now that i'm numerous years out of faculty, I actual have gained a wide appreciation for craft beer and proper notch spirits. I drink responsibly and do not drink with the objective of having inebriated. i imagine the secret isn't prohibition or making ingesting taboo, yet truly coaching at a gentle age. it truly is taken into consideration necessary for youths to understand alcohol; it truly is a fantastic component if used fairly, yet overindulgence is undesirable at any age.

I wouldn't do alchohol. Try a benadryl. It works great! IF you still think you'd like to try the alchohol, find a wine you like. I like Wiedeker Blush Niagra. It's sweet and really good cold. One glass will be good for your heart. Don't drink so much you get drunk, you'll just sleep worse. Good Luck.

I would discuss your tension with your doctor. I doubt alcohol is a good choice to try to self medicate with.
But still, have some wine. It tastes good. Start with some new zealand sauvignon blanc, or a pinot grigio from about anywhere. It can help with tension and it tastes good, is healthy (in moderation).
