Before "I'd like to teach the world to sing" it was a coke ad called "I'd like to buy the world a coke and keep it company", first aired in 1971. Coca-Cola waived royalties on it and donated $80,000 of profits to UNICEF. Since then it has been recorded over 75 times.

You mean the old one from the 70's? That's "I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing." That is one of my all-time favorite commercials, and do you know that it was the only song from a commercial to ever make it into the Billboard Top 10? It's true!

That is a good question, but it seems to me that is a triation to get up and sing this song even through you all ready are at the baseball game, but it just won't seem to make any sense for them to sing another song. But they can always hope to come back for another game, and plus that is a tration that has happened on both sides of Chicago, and at one point, when he was alive that Harry Caray would lead the crowd in singing this song.
