I had a reading and the "psychic" said I had a toxic relatinship with a guy 6 months earlier and that's the reason we didn't pursue. But that he was my soulmate and we would reconnect by the end of the year. He would look for me. Is that what that card means???

Tarot Readers and a Psychic are not the same thing. Some readers are psychic, but they are two different skills. Did this person call themselves a psychic, or are you calling them that? If they were a psychic, then they are not going to read the cards in the same way that a non-psychic is going to.

One reader can't 2nd guess another readers. Everyone is always saying to throw out the book, and learn your own meaning, and then others say how a card can't mean what the reader just said it did... There are no stock or right answers, there are only those you find for yourself.

It's what that card must have meant for that reader in that moment.

I'm assuming the reader used the standard layout of the five cards in a cross with four to the left in a column. If the card was the third from the top on the column, this could be an appropriate interpretation, assuming cards one and two indicated a reconnection or renewal of a past relationship. The interpretation of soul mate would have to come from the card on top in the center of the cross. So it's an entirely possible reading.

And William K, I do not consider the cards magic, no matter if they did start as a parlor game. They are an excellent way to focus your attention on things that are not currently in your conscious mind and draw them to the front. But only if practiced correctly, of course. They can be and often are a tool of frauds.

That is the BIGGEST load of what comes out of the south end of a northbound bull that I have heard in a long time (at least in relation to the tarot).

The 3 of Swords (which is what you appear to be discribing) has various interpretations ranging from heartbreak (which is the most common) to the beginnings of a relationship which will need a lot of work to maintain.

As Cheryl E. has said -- get another reader or look the meaning up yourself (I personally say BEGIN the process of learning how to read -- it is the best defense you have against the scam readers out there -- even if you do not read on your own issues to get a more objective view)

This "reader" was reading something, but it was NOT the cards IMO

Decks tend to vary a bit in nuance... but in general, swords is a suit denoting power and conflict. That card would certainly indicate a toxic relationship, but it has nothing to say about soulmates or reconnections. I'm not sure where she got that from.

Personally I dont' recommend pursuing relationships with toxic individuals. There are many different kinds of soul mates.

The card you describe is the Three of Swords. It all depends on what was around the Three of Swords for the reader to say that. All of the cards interact with each other during the reading and have an affect on each other.

The basic meaning of the Three of Swords is:
Upright Position: Affections may experience "stormy weather", lovers separated
Reverse Position: Disorder, confusion, loss, sorrow due to loss

But again, it all depends on what the reader saw in the cards surrounding the Three of Swords to determine the true meaning.

Wow, that's reading a lot into one card. I think you need to get a few books on Tarot interpretation and read them yourself. I don't know of any reputable card reader who would give you a specific timeframe like 6 months, or tell you definitively that you are going to hook up with someone. The tarot is all about what might happen based on what is going on in your life right now, and the possible choices you might make. I'd find another reader or, as I said, look it up yourself.

it may desire to not be a romantic loss. perhaps it potential a lost chum or kinfolk member. I even have constantly considered this card as loneliness and not loss of love. perhaps it truly is representing the style you haven't got absolutely everyone. i think of it actually relies upon on the different playing cards around it and the place it lays. What you may do is take a glance at each and all the human beings who're on the brink of you. you already know the respond. Tarot is a large device to seek your subconscious.

It is the 3 of Swords:
Heart ache, betrayal, end of an association. This card does not mean he will not look for you. Everything ends giving way to new associations and love. An ending could just be an ending to a bad experience with him. he may have changed and you will begin again on a happier life.

Wow, it means that someone really should examine themselves for believing in something so silly. It would be like me asking, "What does the six of diamonds mean?" with a deck of playing cards. TAROT was an old parlor game until 60s wackjobs brought it back to the spotlight and uneducated people started believing in it.

Rant over. You are free to take your own life back now.
