Faith in Christ. but you have to do it while living... and it has to be sincere.
Good deeds will not earn you heaven. You have to be perfect, are you perfect? Only will believing in Jesus Christ and asking for forgiveness gain you passage into eternal life.

There is no easy to road to heaven after death if you don't know the way during life you won't get there after death.

I believe you can have eternity inside you before you die and that way there is no fear of dying when death comes. Read the book of John in the Bible.
