People tend to blame God for all of the evil in this world. It seems contradictory to me that the people who say God does not exist, ALSO says why could "GOD" let all the bad things happen to people? Well here is the answer. We blame others for our own mistakes. God allows us to live with the choices we make. This goes for everyone in the world. Evil happens because of peoples bad choices. If a person decides to kill then it was that persons choice. Bad things happen to people, that is life.

Blame is always easier than personal responsibility. We suffer for our own sins and for the sins of others.

you what?

I don't believe in god and I don't say 'why could god let all the bad things happen to people'. I think there is evil in the world because that's human nature. I believe I have to live with choices I make because that how it is, not because a god lets me. I think you know some people who claim to be atheist but aren't. A genuine atheist won't blame any god for anything.

I'm not really sure what you are driving at with your question. I understand that you are not 'stirring' but I think you are just giving your own opinion. So that is what I am doing too.

You have received several really good answers to the title question. You are right. God gives us freedom of choice but permits us the consequences of the choices that we make. For the folks that think God should make everything right I ask, do you really want God to control you as if you were an automaton? If you want perfection in all things then study, understand and accept Jesus Christ. Those things will come when He returns.

That is all well and good for the consequences of our choices. But what about the people who died in the tsunami, or new born babies that die a few days old. What choice did they have? Where was their error? What lessons are we meant to learn from that?

God either created us and walked away, or sits by and does nothing because suffering, in all shapes and forms, that causes so much anguish is simply a part of his little "test" and for some reason that is fair.

Coupled with the fact that he has given us the brains to question him, and the evidence to having a basis to do so, the fact that he expects us to ignore that, and the other people who argue just as coherently and with the same vigour that its THEIR God that is the right one, so we can worship him like some child emperor or he'll spank us in the afterlife... I hope he doesn't exist.

Free will is our downfall as human beings. We have the option to do right, or the option to choose our own sinful way. Either way, God allows us to reap the benefits or consequences of our actions. He does love us, but he also wants us to see the error of our sinful ways when we make the wrong choice. As for the small children who have not reached the age of accountability and those who have never heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ, I don't believe they will be judged the same as those of us who know between right and wrong and have been offered saving grace.

It's a reductio ad absurdum in reduced form, which is basically what the problem of evil is. Given an all-knowing, all-powerful, all-loving God, there is no way for evil to exist. Since it does exist, unless you play havoc with definitions, then the implied answer is that God must either be deficient in one of the above mentioned qualities, or not exist at all.

Blame was like the first sin that was ever committed by Adam and Eve, therefore, it is in our human nature to blame people. However with God's help we can get rid of it, as it is sin.

As an American white male, i in my view do no longer care approximately having a loose Tibet , i do no longer care who Taiwan belongs to, as long as their unique cultures and historic information / artifacts are preserved with super care and are not hidden. so some distance as China bobbing up swifter than united statesa., you purchased us there. there are situations whilst i think that united statesa. has fallen off the band wagon an prolonged time in the past in assessment to the chinese language. yet in addition undergo in ideas in spite of the undeniable fact that that united statesa. operates under quasi loose marketplace capitalist principals. Your chinese language government has the super great thing approximately a command economic equipment. meaning if the government sees that something is or isn't working, it has the potential to alter it at a moments be conscious. To many individuals, this is the equivalent of marketplace manipulation and runs thoroughly contradictory to our quasi loose marketplace equipment. in my view, I even have a bent to love and dislike the chinese language command equipment, purely like i like and Dislike our American equipment. it may well be stupid in charge China for something.

Agreed....blaming God not only helps us feel better about not having to look to hard at our own acts (and lack of action) but it also gives us a reason (for those who want/need one) NOT to repent and turn to God. It frees us from accountability.

Do not expect people to be consistent. Are you? Non-believers blaming God is just a way of saying believers have got it wrong.

Amen.....

The bad things that happen in this world are a direct result of sin & the fall in the garden of eden.

God is in complete control....there's no doubt about that. But He does allow things to happen. I don't question Him.....I just trust in Him.
