You can't only have one. You can only have one-AT-A-TIME. Go for passion while still learning about life (this happens naturally anyways), and a comfortable one when ready to settle down. Passion is usually about sex (which however important still consumes only a small portion of time) whereas comfort is everything else. You pick what you want to spend the rest of your life feeling: passionate love AND HATE or comfortable boredom/bliss.

Give me some passion!
I've been in both relationships and the difference is clear. A relationship that starts off comfortable doesn't typically develop passion... but my relationships that start off passion develop comfort over time. Without passion, your relationship just exists... You need sparks to keep it alive!
My man and I are passionate about each other and every day we grow more comfortable with each other... the best of both worlds. True, sometimes passion brings drama... but do you really wanna be with someone that never argues with you about anything? Boring... and may I say whipped...

Can you really have a passionate relationship without being comfortable? I don't know, if the relationship isn't comfortable I can't get passionate. They have to go hand in hand.

Why not both. Depending on ones age, as time goes on we all recognize that the passion will fade to comfort, but there still must be a "spark" of passion to a lasting relationship.

Everybody is obviously different, but I found out that comfortable relationship with my partner was, well, just comfortable, and it ended (badly by the way, and it was my fault for not realizing this earlier!). so now i have a very passionate relationship (with some drama and also a little bit of trauma) with my girlfriend, and keep my friends and family as my 'comfortable' relationship.
Yes, sometimes the ups and downs of my current relationship with my partner makes me miss the calmer days, but then I remember that it became too boring...

And I am assuming either one is in a long-term basis...I would choose passionate. Comfortable can get boring really fast and thats when people are more likely to cheat. Keep the passion alive.
