Because I see so much touted around these pages about anti-religion and Christianity, I am willing to give all those with an emotional bent to air their pet peeves against Christianity, or for it!! All are welcome, regardless of your affiliation or non-affiliation with a doctrine. The word here is vent. Try to be polite for the sake of all the kiddy's, but be as candid as you can within reason and YA rules. Thank you for sharing.

There were a couple who had the courage to vent. One person said, "well we can't go to church and tell people these truths about there religions..." Why not? Vent what you observe! It might also make your ideas a little less presumptuous.

Because they ignore the rules in their holy book that tells them not to judge people or throw (metaphorical) stones. They just don't know how to turn the other cheek. Maybe if they'd try and be more Christ like and less like some missionary who thinks everyone who doesn't agree with them deserves eternal torture, you wouldn't have this. And yes, respecting the separation of church and state would be the best thing they could do to derail a lot of atheist negativity. I don't hate Christians, but I do hate the missionary mentality.

The same reason the muslims and the jews fight in the middle east.

I believe its called ethnocentricism. Basically I believe that I am superior because of my beliefs. This is also a platform on which someone can get out and vent their frustrations publicly without the chance of ridicule (direct ridicule that is) Unless of course my name was Krishnakumar Kolachalama Wongjaruensosun of 5534 Market street, answerville, california....Then I might have some people knowing who I was, but even then, who cares...By the way that is a fictitional name and a made up address, so dont look for it...=)

We fight because it's in our nature to do battle. Without conflict we would still be single-celled organisms. So it makes perfect sense to test our facts against their faith in order to progress the species.
I am not anti-Christian, anymore than I am anti-Teapot. It would be illogical to hold a negative view against a religion without fully appreciating the cause and effect it has inspired throughout history--and nothing has had such a great impact on society as religion. And to western society as Christianity. It's a massive part of who all of us are, even if we no longer follow it.
I wouldn't be alive today without Christianity, of that I am sure. The odds of taking that variable out of the equation and still getting me as part of the solution is next to impossible. So why would I want to do away with something that played a role in creating me? I wouldn't. I think that the good and evil of Christianity are necessary, or else they would not be here. It's a shape that human nature took, a vehicle towards the ends we're at.
Being a mathematical guy, I believe that every number, variable, and equation possible will have to represent itself in the universe, and Christianity, Islam, all of these things are numbers that have happened, and as such were meant to have happened.
I can challenge ideas that go against what I believe is fundamentally right, and good, but I could never see it in myself to actively destroy something like that.
It would be tremendously vain, wouldn't it? To think that you understand where the world needs to be better than the world does? Better than the absolute mathematics that created these conditions? Of course it would be, so it's beyond me. I can just challenge points I think are dangerous, inspire people to use reason, and that's about it.

I have no problems with ppl believing. I have a HUGE problem when they try & force their "faith" into my facts, home, schools etc. Many xians are arrogant in the fact they feel their beliefs are the end all. Example: Church & state. I do not know why they can't see that xianity is THEIR belief & is not shared by all citizens in this country & therefore it is not acceptable or fair to be mixed into government. Xianity does not represent America. If we want to include God in gov. we would need to include all Gods. Imagine the pledge. One nation under Dogma. To try & force religion into the public arena goes against all that America is.

Xians, be careful what you wish for, it's a 2 way street. If you want religion in gov., then gov goes into religion & many churches will go broke paying taxes & will have to follow stricter gov control. There is no place for religion in gov & no place for gov in religion, both are better off seperated.

I respect others belief, but I take acception when they try & trample mine. Xians are never to judge, that is God's job & should remain that way. Xians are about the light & love, I think many of them need to take a step back & regroup because they are not being very xian.

Thanks Max, I don't really look at this as fighting or hatred, although I realize that sometimes unfortunately it does occur. I enjoying learning the trying to understand someone else's point of view, and it also helps me study and affirm my beliefs.
I really appreciate the opportunity to discuss different beliefs without malice.
Keep smiling!

They fight because while some things like math, nutritional content of foods, and exercising has solid proof, theirs is based solely on their beliefs.

Heads butt when you try to convince someone to believe differently without proof.

The funny thing is, regardless of whether you call yourself a Christian, Athiest, Agnostic, Scientologist, Evolutionists, or whatever, no matter what you believe in, all have that little thing called FAITH -- believing in something without proof
