Well they're definitely a different punk then 30 years ago. I personally don't consider them punk even though I'm a huge fan. Especially their newer stuff is more alternative, and some of the songs from Dookie, ie When I Come Around, cannot be considered punk. It's pop-punk, totally different. But it doesn't really matter, music is music, whatever the genre. BQ: Jesus of Suburbia BQ2: the Clash. I like Green Day more, but I don't consider them punk BQ3: Train in Vain
