Being a guy is a lot like being a high performance sports car in a city with posted speed limits. Or walking through fifth avenue when everything's 80% off with only having 5$ in your pocket.

You have to put up with women, who are absolutely /insane/ and other guys who are at best, enjoyable company, and at worst, complete assholes. You have to work a crummy job to get you things that will have to be replaced sometime shortly thereafter if you ever plan to stay recent, and the only thing you can do really to make this is ok is to get drunk on weekends. Or every day.

Only since I have a wife and a daughter have I gained a little perspective on this.

One big difference is lack of fear. Guys don't walk around in fear all the time- at least not fear of physical things. We can still be scared of social situations- for example, a pretty girl can be very intimidating. Or speaking in public. It isn't scary though to walk alone at night- we don't even think about it. We aren't scared of germs or bugs or spiders or things like that- at all.

Another difference is that we don't think about our appearance so much. A little bit, but not like women do. We just don't care so much what other people think of us. Men don't like to dress up, but women do.

Women often don't understand that men like to be heroes. It's not a sacrifice or anything- it's what men like to do.

Men like doing things- not talking about them. We get bored quickly with lots of chit-chat. But, we actually enjoy making things and fixing things. We like to feel productive- to accomplish things.

Also, men do not like conflict with women much. We really don't like a woman screaming at us. So, we try to avoid conflict and women who scream a lot. It just stresses us out.

Men don't like cute things like women do. The cute stuff they sell at Hallmark just seems like a waste of money to men. We really don't understand it.

And, like all the others said, men are horny. It is often on our minds. All men like to look at pretty women. We are very visual- it's looks that are mainly appealing- not so much personality. I know that's superficial, but I think it is true.

Don't believe what some women say that all men are liars or cheaters. It isn't true. Some men are, probably the ones that that woman is attracted to. But there are many men of character who are honest and trustworthy.

I think that guys have it pretty good. Especially growing up. My brother got to do a lot more things than I did. Because he was a boy and they didn't have to worry about him as much. BUT if I had to choose I would still want to be a girl! LOL! =D
