Well, any religion can define their own criteria for their own religion, including who and what a messiah is. However, the basic issue with Christianity is that they say Jesus is the JEWISH Messiah, i.e. the one from Jewish scripture.
So, that being the case, yes, it is Judaism, based on the Torah, that clearly defines who the Jewish Messiah is.

No it was God's idea and He says when the messiah arrives, which he already did and it was up to the Jew then to see the signs and accept his arrival and his soon return

Good question,

although they do get to make their own decision to accept Jesus as the Messiah or Savior, they do not get to make that decision for the masses - Jewish or not.

What they chose to believe and what the truth of the matter is, is obviously two different things.

Fortunately, we get to decide for ourselves whether or not to accept God's Son as the true Messiah!

God Bless You

"They" who?

The smart ones have already converted to Christianity.

The rest are too stubborn to admit the truth.

The Israelites don't make that decision, God does.
