It's probably something minor, like the computer firmware needs to be updated. Just take it to a dealer, it's probably not a big deal.

The check engine light comes on when a sensor is out of parameters. There is a reason for the light to be on and you need to get it repaired. Try Autozone, etc. they will read the code for you for free. You should get it taken care of though, cause this is a warning that there is a problem.
The check engine light IS NOT a maintenance reminder, or time for oil change, or a light that should be ignored.
Check engine lights / Service engine soon light is a diagnostic indicator that the computers are programmed to do when a failure of a sensor occurs. This is standard on all cars since 1996 when the federal government imposed OBD II.

This is a common problem. The OBD-II computer monitoring system on modern vehicles tracks EVERYTHING, including possible fuel evaporation from an incorrectly sealed gas filler cap. Your gas cap might be loose, incorrectly installed, missing, or defective. Try cleaning the filler neck with a clean rag, then reinstalling the cap. You might need to disconnect the negative battery cable for around 30 seconds to clear the service engine soon light.

I own a 2007 Camry and was having the same problem. I finally asked the manager at the lube place I was at if he knew what it was and if he could fix it. He told me that most new cars, expecially Japanese cars, are trying to make sure people change their oil, so there is a preset mileage that the service light will come on. It turned out that mine was still on because the oil changer did not reset the switch the previous time. It should be something you can fix yourself. Mine only requires me to to a little trick with the odometer button when I start the car. You can probably find out how to do it online. Hope this helps.

I dont own a Nissan but I own a 2007 Mazda that does the same thing. They always say its the gas cap but its not. I know how to screw in a gas cap. I think its a malfunction of the car. Bring it to the dealer again and throw a fit.

Your car is new. Go straight to the dealer. It is most likely a minor issue, and possibly a quick fix. Don't worry about it. My 2005 has been flawless for the 44,000 miles I've had it. Great truck.

Just tightening the cap will not turn the light out. That will take 30 drives with out the malfunction to turn the light out. Please take that truck to the dealer to have the warranty fix the problem.
