I want to get a ps2 but i dont know which one the better ps2 fat or the ps2 slim

I think you can only find the slim PS2 new. Sony has stopped making the fat PS2 for a couple of years now.
There really is no advantage in getting the fat PS2. You can use the PS2 hard drive on the fat PS2, but so far, only 1 or 2 games actually uses the hard drive. The advantage of the slim PS2 is that it has a built in network adapter, which you can use to play online. The fat PS2 doesn't have one, so you need to buy one if you want to play online, but about the only place where you can find a network adapter is on Ebay.

Well, since the PS2 Slim is probably way better looking and at the same price now I would say Slim. Never heard of any problems with it yet though.

easy slim because the intenet online play for ps2 is free and the slim one has a built in network so you dont have to find a network adapter which they dont make anymore thats why i own both cause i play online. but take in mind that the disk drive for the slim model have been known to mess up everynow and then and they still do make the fat modle which cost less.

the slim one is way better........ but if your going to do mod's for hacked games sum times you need a boot disk to get the PS2 to play em and ya need to remove the front door so you would need the fat one not the slim

Slim one has a slightly faster CPU, Ethernet connection. Apart from that - they are the same. Fat one had a slot for HDD, but I never played any of those games - there weren't too many of them. Fat one didn't have built-in Ethernet connector.

the newer 1 is the slim 1 so id choose the slim.they are the same thing but it takez up less space

the slim. I've had both and the slim is sleeker and quieter. the fat is all old tech.
