why don't you believe in Zeus, the snake god,or Santa
the bible is a collection of stories, there are more story's of the same people by the same authors about god that didn't make the cut ,the catholic Constantine put it together
farther more most of them are story's of older gods just rewrote to suit Christan's
you need to learn history
Gilgamesh=the older story of god up to and including the flood
(only difference is the serpent was changed to the devil, instead of being god)
Hercules, the man, the god ,the savior
he was half man half god and went around saving the helpless people from evil gods
isn't that basically the same story as jesus just missing a virgin birth,is there some copyright infringement going on here
EDIT; somebody said the cross was evidence, history clearly states crosses where not even used until a1000 years after Jesus death, there is no way he died on one they wasn't even invented yet

I was a christian, then I realized that I was following blindly (peer pressure). I did my own research and found out many FACTS that the church hides/ignores. Have you ever read a book on religion from a non-religious person? Try "The God Delusion" or "God is Not Great", they both echo my thoughts.
Why DO christians believe?

No evidence, and no good can possibly come of me believing just in case. To assume there is no God is more scientifically advantageous, because the laws seem to work just fine without him. Also, to assume there is no God, we can work to better the real world, knowing full well it's the only life we have. Our position makes the world a better place.

You can say that they believe in their wants and desires... they are living for some reasons like eating, working all the week and earn some money to spend it on hunting girls, calculating, doing business, buying cars and houses, jumping up and down and so on.
And when talk to theme about God, religion and morality, they say: "i don't have time for that,i don't wan believe in God, if i die i may come back again to continue feeding my desires".

because i do not study Harry Potter and then trust in him, i do not study Egyptian hyroglyphs and then trust in them, i favor data, i'm not likely to blindly save on with a 2000 365 days old e book written by using primitive screwhead who had not something else to illustrate to, all of us understand more desirable now, and are you particular you'll bypass to heaven, no, its the ******* stupid Pascal's wager bs it truly is compared to there's a 50:50 threat between atheism and Christianity, what about Islam, buddism, pagan gods, Hinduism, Judaism, and the different 2000+ religions, hell the worship of a %. of gum could get you to heaven for crying out loud, and that is purely as likely as with Jesus, and purely because more desirable human beings trust in it would not make it actual does it?

Never had any reason TO believe. Lack of belief is a default.
Or do you automatically believe in the invisible dragon under my bed? 'Cause if you do, I've got a bridge to sell you...

Evidence would be #1
But when I consider the vastness of the universe and how small we really are. I can not fathom us really being as important as christians like to think we are.
Added with the fact that there is probably intelligent life beyond our solar system. To think that adam and eve caused sin to effect the rest of this universe is illogical.
Many other reasons. . but i like this one in particular

Humans are great at making up gods. There are more than a hundred thousand of them that humans have made up over the years. There isn't a shred of empirical evidence for any of them. So why would I not think that your's is made up too?

First responder has it right: lack of evidence. But one can go further: not only is there no evidence of the existence of any sort of deity, there is a fair amount that no such thing exists. For details:

Because we're not stupid. Why do you believe? Have you ever considered other possibilities for existence in this world? Have you ever looked at how you got to where you are and considered what you don't know and what you've ignored?
